摘要： A method and apparatus for encrypting and decrypting digital data employing multiple Huffman tables and at least one encryption key to enhance security of the digital data. At least one image parameter for characterizing the digital data, such as a motion vector table or DC-luminance, is selected as an image parameter. All possible Huffman tables according to the image parameter are then generated by Huffman tree mutation. A predetermined number of active Huffman tables from all possible Huffman tables are selected using a first encryption key and a hash function. Afterward, a coding sequence for the active Huffman tables is generated using a second encryption key and the hash function. Finally, the digital data is encrypted into an encrypted bit stream by the active Huffman tables with the coding sequence. Encrypted symbols of the image parameter can be reduced by symbol statistic analysis, thus reducing computation effort.

摘要： Simple, computational efficient, and robust audio features are applied in a uniform program indexing method for picking up video segments relating to highlight plays in a recorded program worthy of being reviewed. By focusing on certain frequencies in an audio sequence of the program, a computational complexity of the uniform program indexing method is significantly decreased. With the aid of MFCC coefficients and a DFBE coefficient generated from the MFCC coefficients, audio patterns may be utilized for differentiating exciting events in the program from other unnecessary information. Scores corresponding to various audio segments are regarded as standards for picking up video segments in the program worthy of being chosen in a recorded highlight collection. Some low-level-feature parameters, some video segments having highlight-related visual characteristics, and a re-ranking procedure are utilized for enhancing precision of the scores for providing video segments worthy of being reviewed.

This allows the Blu-Ray ROM disc, being identified by a unique medium identifier, e.g. based on a barcode in the Burst Cutting Area (42) of the disc, to have an identical user defined behaviour on arbitrary players connected to the network.

摘要： A rewritable storage medium comprising predefined content which is adapted for being integrated with additional user-defined content is described, the storage medium comprises: a first portion comprising said predefined content; a second portion for adding said user-defined content; wherein said predefined content in said first portion comprises links to said second portion. Thereby the user can customise the predefined content on the storage medium by adding personal content being an integrated part of the predefined content. Further the user can make dedicated annotations and comments on each category he visits, the connection is built up by the dummy links. According to the invention the user's own content is integrated with the published part of the disc giving an easily personalised guide book. In more general terms the user buys disc content with some prepredefined content, which can be enhanced by user's own content in a seamless way.

The player's capability can be extended by downloading an appropriate decoder from a web server via the Internet. In this way, the player can play back contents that it does not originally support. If the content type is unknown, the player will check whether the disc contains a URL for linking to a web site containing an appropriate decoder. If the disc contains the URL, the player will access the web site to download the appropriate decoder. In a similar manner, the capability of a recorder can also be expanded by downloading appropriate encoders from the Internet.
