    摘要: The liquid crystal is written with a laser beam. The laser beam generated by a laser source is applied through an optical control unit such as galvanometer mirrors to the liquid crystal. The intensity of the laser beam applied to the liquid crystal is controlled by a laser beam intensity varying unit. A writing control unit controls the mechanical displacement caused by the optical axis control unit and controls the laser beam intensity varying unit. The laser beam energy applied to the liquid crystal can be maintained constant, thus enabling a constant written line width even during acceleration and deceleration of the optical axis control unit.

    摘要: The present invention prevents a moiré generated by the interference of two liquid crystal display panels in a display device capable of performing a three-dimensional display using two liquid crystal display panels. By arranging an upper lens array and a lower lens array between an upper liquid crystal display panel and a lower liquid crystal display panel, a moiré and smearing of an image can be prevented. Due to such a constitution, lowering of brightness and contrast can be suppressed.

    摘要: A gray scale display, which is provided with a liquid crystal panel consisting of switching elements and a liquid crystal layer superposed thereon; a digital-time function transforming device for transforming digital signals including gray scale information into time function signals; and a time function-gray scale transforming device for sampling a brightness reference signal varying with respect to time, responding to the time function signals and generating gray scale signals corresponding to the signal voltage applied to the switching elements. The time function-gray scale transforming device, in which the brightness reference signal is inputted, samples the signal, responding to time function signals such as a pulse phase signal, a pulse width signal, etc., to obtain a signal voltage. In this way it is possible to reduce the size of a signal voltage generating circuit and to lower signal speed of the operation of the circuit.

    摘要: A driving method for an optical printer and an optical printer having a liquid-crystal light switching element including a ferroelectric liquid crystal sandwiched between a pair of plates provided with electrodes on adjacent surfaces thereof. The liquid-crystal light switching element is disposed between a light source and a movable photosensitive surface and controlled so as to at least one of transmit and block light from the light source to the photosensitive surface for enabling a printing operation. Voltages v.sub.1 and v.sub.2 are applied to the liquid-crystal switching element substantially in accordance with the equation ##EQU1## and the intensity of light from the light source incident on the liquid-crystal switching element is controlled so that incident light intensity during a period T.sub.2 is weaker than the incident light intensity during a period T.sub.1, where t.sub.0, t.sub.1, t.sub.2 and t.sub.3 represents times, T.sub.1 (=t.sub.1 -t.sub.0) is the period during which a printing operation is effected, T.sub.2 (=t.sub.3 -t.sub.2) is the period during which the photosensitive surface moves, v.sub.1 is the voltage which is applied to the liquid-crystal switching element during the period T.sub.1, and v.sub.2 is the voltage which is applied to the liquid-crystal switching element during the period T.sub.2.
