摘要: This invention discloses ionization sputtering apparatuses which have a function for ionizing sputtered particles. Those apparatuses comprise an ionization means for ionizing sputtered particles from a target. The ionization means generates a plasma by applying radio frequency energy with plasma generation gas at an ionization space between the target and a holder holding a substrate. An disclosed apparatus comprises a magnetic device preventing the plasma from diffusing from the ionization space. Another disclosed apparatus comprises a magnetic device which orients the ionized sputtered particles toward the substrate.

摘要: A long distance sputtering apparatus is provided in which a target and a substrate are disposed so as to oppose each other in a vacuum vessel provided with an exhaust system, wherein the target and substrate are separated by a distance of 150 mm or more. The long distance sputtering apparatus includes a gas-introducing tube, a cylindrical shield, and an exhaust hole. The gas-introducing tube introduces gas from a location closer to the target than halfway between the target and the substrate. The shield is disposed so as to surround the space between the target and the substrate. The exhaust hole is formed closer to the substrate than the gas-introducing tube. The pressure distribution of the sputtering gas between the target and the substrate is characterized by a higher pressure toward the target and a lower pressure toward the substrate.

摘要: A subject lens is held by two chuck shafts, which are rotated synchronously by pulse motors during a grinding operation. Chamfering and other grinding wheels are mounted on a rotary shaft of a lens grinding part. A desired grinding wheel for each processing is selected by moving the rotary shaft vertically. In the case of rough processing, the rotary shaft is moved by a pulse motor toward the center of the chuck shafts based on lens frame shape data. In the case of chamfering, the rotary shaft is moved toward the center of the chuck shafts as well as vertically based on chamfering data. To produce part of the chamfering data, a lens measuring section measures the shapes of the front and rear surfaces of the subject lens.

摘要: A thin charging device having excellent portability is provided for charging a battery pack while the battery pack remains housed within a communication device. The charging device (10) is constructed from a flat rectangular shaped main body (12) and a cover (13) which is fixed to a rotation shaft (23) so as to be rotatable with respect to the main body to allow the cover to be positioned in either an open or closed position. When the cover is in the closed position, it covers charging terminals (20) provided on the top of the main body and makes the overall dimensions of the charging device roughly equal to the dimensions of the main body. On the other hand, when the cover is placed in the open position, the cover is maintained at such open position by the provision of support means (34), (35), (37). When a communication device such as a portable telephone (15) is set on the charging device, the back surface (25) of the portable telephone makes contact with the opened cover, whereby the portable telephone is supported in an upright position. In this position, external terminals (30) of the portable telephone make contact with the charging terminals of the charging device and this enables the battery pack (28) housed within the portable telephone to be charged.

摘要: An image forming apparatus comprises a photoreceptor, a developing roller for forming a layer of developer on a surface thereof to supply toner to the photoreceptor at a developing position, a bias supply for applying bias voltage between the developing roller and a ground, a conductive line for electrically connecting the developer layer with the ground, a detector for detecting toner density of the developer layer based on an amount of electric current flowing through the conductive line, and a voltage controller for preventing surface voltage of the developer layer from falling below a predetermined level despite the electric current flowing into the conductive line at least during a developing operation. Accordingly, there can be reliably prevented formation of fog on a copy because the surface voltage of the developer layer is maintained above the specified level at least during the developing operation.
