    Abstract: A method for improving service reliability includes deciding, by a session function entity in a network, to initiate establishment of at least two transmission paths between a terminal and the user plane function entity, and instructing the terminal or the user plane function entity to transmit same data on the at least two paths. The user plane function allocates, based on a notification of the session function entity, user plane resources to the at least two transmission paths, and transmits the same data with the terminal on the at least two transmission paths. A core network initiates the establishment of the at least two transmission paths to the terminal. Two access devices may independently establish the at least two transmission paths.

    Abstract: A bearer processing method and system, and a related apparatus. A GW-U is configured to receive a data packet and match the data packet with a rule, and send bearer processing indication information to a GW-C if a rule matching result of the data packet meets a trigger condition for bearer processing, where the bearer processing indication information is used to trigger the GW-C to perform bearer processing according to quality of service QoS information of a data service corresponding to the data packet. The GW-C is configured to receive the bearer processing indication information from the GW-U, determine, according to the bearer processing indication information, the QoS information of the data service corresponding to the data packet, and perform bearer processing according to the QoS information of the data service corresponding to the data packet.

    Abstract: Gateway configuration methods and devices that resolve problems of a relatively heavy configuration workload, update inflexibility, and low configuration efficiency that exist when an operation and maintenance (OM) entity is used to uniformly configure gateways in an LTE system. The method includes: configuring, by a control plane gateway, a parameter for a user plane gateway, and sending, by the control plane gateway, a configuration message to the user plane gateway, where the configuration message carries the configuration parameter configured by the control plane gateway for the user plane gateway. The control plane gateway configures the parameter for the user plane gateway, so that the control plane gateway implements configuration of the user plane gateway, and configuration flexibility and configuration efficiency are improved.
