    摘要: A user equipment transmits a signature in a selected one of a plurality of time slots of a common packet channel. The common packet channel is defined by a predetermined set of codes and has a plurality of access opportunities. Each access opportunity is defined by a time slot of the plurality of time slots and a signature. An identifier of a selected code of the predetermined set of codes is identified. The selected code is selected from a currently unused code, if available, based on a code association with the access opportunity defined by the selected signature and selected one time slot. The user equipment communicates using the one selected code.

    摘要: A base station receives access opportunities and packet data over a common packet channel. The common packet channel is defined by a predetermined set of codes and has a plurality of access opportunities. Each access opportunity is defined by a time slot and a signature. A code selection controller selects a currently unused code based on a code associated with a received access opportunity, such that a code, if available, is selected in response to receiving a signature in one of the time slots. The access opportunity defined by the received signature and the one time slot. A transmitter transmits an identifier of the selected available code. The transmitter sends communications encoded with the selected code.

    摘要: An order for physical channel reassignment is to be selected in a hybrid time division multiple access/code division multiple access wireless communication system. A fragmentation gauge is determined for each of a set of the physical channels. For each physical channel, the fragmentation gauge represents a fragmentation over time slots of that physical channel with respect to other physical channels of a user service of that physical channel. An order is selected for the set of physical channels for reassignment from a lowest to a highest quality. The order is based on in part each individual channel's fragmentation gauge.

A measure of interference is determined for each of the set of time slots. A fragmentation parameter is provided. The fragmentation parameter represents a preference for fragmenting user service physical channels over time slots. The user service physical channel is assigned to one of the set of time slots using the measured interference associated with each of the set of time slots and the fragmentation parameter.

    摘要: A method for downlink power control for use in a spread spectrum time division communication system having time slots for communication, implemented in a user equipment, includes receiving data in a command per coded composite transport channel (CCTrCH) transmitted over a plurality of time slots. An interference power for each time slot of the plurality of time slots is measured and a single power command for the entire CCTrCH is transmitted in response to a signal to interference ratio of the received CCTrCH and the measured interference power measurement for each time slot. A subsequent data is received in the CCTrCH communication having a transmission power level for each downlink communication time slot set individually in response to the interference power measurement for that time slot and the single power command for the entire CCTrCH.

    摘要: A wireless digital communication system includes a base station in communication with a plurality of user equipment mobile terminals (UEs). The system prioritizes the forwarding of blocks of downlink data to designated ones of the UEs. The system employs adaptive modulation and coding (AM&C) to achieve improved radio resource utilization and provides optimum data rates for user services. Blocks of downlink (DL) data are received by the base station which requests downlink (DL) channel quality measurements only from those mobile terminals (UEs) with pending downlink transmissions. The UEs respond to the request by measuring and reporting DL channel quality to the base station, which then allocates resources such that the UEs will make best use of radio resources. The base station notifies the UEs of the physical channel allocation indicating the modulation/coding rate and allocated slots followed by transmission of blocks of downlink data which are transmitted to the UEs.
