Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to pre-association exchange. A device may receive a physical layer (PHY) based extended long range (ELR) request from a station device (STA) within a transmission opportunity (TxOP). The device may allocate a unique Unassociated ID (UID) to the STA within the same TxOP, the UID being distinct among active unassociated devices. The device may indicate to the STA to use the UID in subsequent communications until association or a predefined timeout occurs. The device may cause to send a trigger frame to the STA using the UID for scheduled uplink transmissions.

Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to enhanced long range communication. A device may generate a short beacon frame or a discovery frame comprising discovery information and operation information. The device may incorporate basic discovery information for a basic service set (BSS) into the short beacon frame or the discovery frame, including basic service set identifier (BSSID), service set identifier (SSID), basic rates for enhanced long range, and regulatory transmit (TX) power. The device may prevent a transmission of regular beacon frames at a target beacon transmission time (TBTT) when using ELR PPDUs. The device may cause to send the short beacon frame or the discovery frame to one or more station devices (STAs) in an enhanced long range (ELR) physical protocol data unit (PPDU).

Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to mapping traffic identifiers to multiple non-collocated access points to which the station device is concurrently associated. A device may identify a frame received from a first access point to which the station device is associated while being associated to a second access point that is not collocated with the first access point; decode a traffic identifier (TID) in the frame, the TID indicative of a type of traffic associated with the frame; and select, based on the TID, either a first communication link to the first access point or a second communication link to the second access point for the type of traffic.

Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to dynamic channel bonding and multi-band aggregation. A device may determine a plurality of aggregated medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (A-MPDU) subframes to send to a station device including a first A-MPDU subframe and a second A-MPDU subframe. The device may determine a quiet period between the first A-MPDU subframe and the second A-MPDU subframe. The device may cause to send the plurality of A-MPDU subframes to the station device on a first channel. The device may determine a status of a second channel during the quiet period. The device may cause to send the second A-MPDU subframe to the station device using a multi-band transmission on the first channel and the second channel.

Abstract: A new staggered trigger scheme is described herein to address and optimize deployments using a mix of narrowband (NB) data packets with existing Wi-Fi devices. The approach has the access point (AP) sending staggered wideband trigger frames prepended with a legacy preamble. This signalling method allows frequency multiplexing of low-power NB (LP-NB) devices, in addition to time and frequency multiplexing of both LP-NB and wideband devices in both the downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) direction. Furthermore, the scheme allows for the multiplexing of the new wake-up packets with future narrowband and IEEE 802.11ax data packets. Thus, with this unique staggered trigger frame proposal, LP-NB and wake-up devices unable to transmit or decode the legacy 20 MHz preamble, can share the spectrum with legacy devices with full coexistence provided.
