摘要: A spherical-article measuring apparatus has first and second support arms and a size detector. The first support arm has first and second ends. The first end can be brought in contact with a first curve section of a spherical article to be measured at one end of the diametrical line in the spherical article. The second end can be located spaced apart from and opposite to a second curve section of the spherical article at the other end of the diametrical line. The second support arm has a third end which can be brought in contact with a third curve section of the spherical article. The size detector can be brought in contact with the second curve section.

摘要: In a recognition/diagnosis method, a relation between total sums of inputs of respective cases and teacher data is listed in the order of magnitude of the total sums of inputs. Based on the value of the teacher data for the input having the maximum total sum and the number of times of change of teacher data in the table are considered, a configuration of a neural network (the number of hidden layers and the number of neurons thereof) is determined. Coupling weights are analytically calculated based on the table.

摘要: A yarn break detecting device for a spinning machine includes detectors, a feed section and a control section. The detectors each include a pair of electrodes having substantially the same area and adapted to electrically induce a potential depending on static electricity charged on a yarn, a differential amplifier, a waveform shaper and an indicator lamp. The induced potential is then amplified and rectified to turn on the indicator lamp and concurrently fed to a microprocessor in the control section for operation processing, resulting in positions at which yarn break occurs and the number of yarn breaks being indicated.

摘要: An improved method for producing a protective-coated steel pipe in a construction work site by spirally winding and melt-bonding a belt-like thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet around the outer peripheral surface of a steel pipe, for use as a construction member in corrosive circumstances, the method provides a winding step winding the sheet around the outer peripheral surface of the steel pipe while contacting adjacent side end faces of the sheet in a face-to-face relation to each other and a bonding step of heat melt-bonding the adjacent sheet portions to each other in the contacted state of the respective side end faces while pressing both sheet portions together by a pressing means when they begin to melt. Also disclosed is an equipment used for practicing the said method. According to these method and equipment, the resin of the sheet comes into completely close contact with the steel pipe so the corrosion resistance of the pipe is improved remarkably.

摘要: A puffer type gas circuit breaker comprises a first and a second arcing electrodes movable relative to each other, an insulating nozzle surrounding the second arcing electrode, a puffer device for introducing an arc-suppressing gas into the insulating nozzle to puff out the arc produced between the two arcing electrodes when the breaker is in motion for circuit breaking, and a movable shield device for relieving the concentration of an electric field at the front end of the first arcing electrode during the breaker motion for circuit breaking. When the breaker is closed and the circuit made, the movable shield device surrounds the first arcing electrode and insulating nozzle, with a predetermined gap between itself and the insulating nozzle opposite thereto, and is kept at the same potential as the first arcing electrode. The circuit breaker further includes a device for maintaining the predetermined gap and the same potential at least in the early stage of the breaker motion for current breaking.
