Abstract: To make a display device inconspicuous. A display system includes a base and a display device attached to the base. The display device includes a plurality of inorganic light emitters arrayed in a matrix with a row-column configuration and a surface layer. The surface layer is provided in a traveling direction of light emitted from the inorganic light emitters with respect to the inorganic light emitters and includes a plurality of transmission parts and a blocking part. The transmission parts are provided in a matrix with a row-column configuration so as to overlap the inorganic light emitters when viewed from the traveling direction of the light and allow the light from the inorganic light emitters to pass therethrough. The blocking part blocks the light from the inorganic light emitters. The inorganic light emitters are provided overlapping the transmission parts provided to the surface layer.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, an array substrate includes a semiconductor layer, scanning and signal lines, first and second insulating layers, a pedestal and a pixel electrode. The scanning line is opposed to the semiconductor layer. The first insulating layer is provided above the semiconductor layer. The signal line and the pedestal are connected to the semiconductor layer through first and second contact holes in the first insulating layer. The second insulating layer is provided above the pedestal. The pixel electrode is connected to the pedestal through a third contact hole in the second insulating layer. The signal line and the pedestal are provided in layers different from each other.

Abstract: In an LCD device having wall electrodes, four kinds of pixels are used that impart different alignment properties to the liquid crystal molecules. Specifically, the LC molecules are aligned such that: the LC molecules in first pixels twist clockwise and rise in a plus direction; the LC molecules in second pixels twist clockwise and rise in a minus direction; the LC molecules in third pixels twist counterclockwise and rise in the plus direction; and the LC molecules in fourth pixels twist counterclockwise and rise in the minus direction. Abstract: A provided is a liquid crystal display device with a high definition screen and less color mixture. On an array substrate, a pixel is formed between the adjacent video signal lines, a color filter is formed within the pixel, a flattening film is formed on the color filter, a lower layer is formed on the flattening film, and an upper layer having a slit is formed on the lower layer with an interlayer insulating film interposed therebetween; and on the array substrate, an opposite substrate is arranged with a liquid crystal layer interposed therebetween. When a distance from the top of the video signal line working as a light shielding film to the bottom of the liquid crystal layer is defined as d and a space between the centers of the video signal lines separating the pixel is defined as w, a relation of d≦0.3 w is satisfied.

Abstract: Pixel electrodes and a common electrode are formed on a first panel. A wall is formed on the first panel. The wall includes a large insulating wall that is made of an insulating material and projects toward a second panel, and a wall electrode part that covers a side wall of the large insulating wall and functions as the pixel electrode or the common electrode. The wall includes a side surface on which an alignment film that defines an alignment of liquid crystal molecules of a liquid crystal layer is formed. The side wall of the wall is inclined with respect to a direction perpendicular to the first panel and the second panel. With this configuration, in a liquid crystal display device having the wall electrode, light leakage at the time of displaying a black image can be reduced.
