    Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device includes: a substrate; a plurality of pixels provided to the substrate; a plurality of light emitting elements provided to the pixels; and a first light diffusion layer including a plurality of light diffusion structures and having a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, the second surface facing the substrate with the light emitting elements interposed between the second surface and the substrate. The light diffusion structures each include a plurality of high refractive index layers and a plurality of low refractive index layers. The high refractive index layers and the low refractive index layers are alternately layered in a thickness direction of the first light diffusion layer. The high refractive index layers and the low refractive index layers are each curved and recessed in a direction from the first surface toward the second surface.

    Abstract: A pixel electrode is configured of one comb tooth portion and a contact portion whose width is widened from the end portion of the comb tooth portion in a first direction that is the extending direction of a scanning line. The width of the contact portion is not expanded in a direction opposite to the first direction, and the production of a domain is prevented. A picture signal line is bent in the direction in which the width of the contact portion of the pixel electrode is widened, so that the comb tooth portion of the pixel electrode can be disposed in the center between the picture signal lines, and the width of the contact portion can be formed in a sufficient width in the direction in which the picture signal line is bent. Thus, the contact margin of the pixel electrode can be provided.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device has a pair of wall electrodes facing each other, which is disposed on pixels on a first substrate, functions as one of pixel electrodes and a common electrode, and takes a posture of standing on the first substrate. Also, the liquid crystal display device has a center electrode that is disposed between the pair of wall electrodes, functions as the other of the pixel electrodes and the common electrode, has a convexity lower in height than the pair of wall electrodes, and makes a width in a direction along which the pair of wall electrodes faces each other gradually smaller toward the second substrate. According to this liquid crystal display device, since a vertical electric field can be prevented from being developed on an upper side of the center electrode, a transmittance of light can be improved.

    Abstract: The liquid crystal display device includes a pixel structure provided with a large wall formed along a long side of a pixel with a rectangular plane, a small wall formed at a center of the pixel and extending in the same direction as the large wall, a wall electrode formed on a wall surface of the large wall, a plane electrode formed between the small and large walls, in which the wall electrode and the plane electrode form a pixel electrode, and a common electrode formed on a surface of the small wall. The large wall has a part with an increased thickness at an end part of the pixel. The wall electrode is bent toward the center of the pixel. This structure prevents decrease of reverse twist of liquid crystal at an end part of the pixel as well as generation of domain, thus improving transmittance of the screen.
