    摘要: A shell and tube heat exchanger has at least one baffle to support the tubes within the casing of the heat exchanger, wherein the baffle intersects the inner casing wall along a substantial portion of the arc. The baffle has a bypass through which flows at least a portion of the fluid flowing into the casing and around the baffle. At least a portion of the bypass is outside of the casing. This flow of fluid through the bypass reduces pressure drop through the heat exchanger and also reduces to some extent, points adjacent to the baffles where fluid flow may stagnate.

The cavitation inactivates microorganisms in the liquid.

    摘要: A lug nut removal and storage system, for removing lug nuts from lug bolts, comprising a tube. The tube has a tube exterior, a proximal end, a distal end, and a proximal distal axis. A channel extends into the distal end wherein the lug nuts are stored. A plurality of ball bearings are disposed around the channel near the distal end. The ball bearings in ball bearing bores transverse to the channel, the ball bearings moving in the ball bearing bores to narrow and widen the channel. A spring clip selectively restricts the outward movement of the ball bearings, so that the ball bearings will maintain the lug nuts in the channel, and releases the ball bearings so that the ball bearings will widen the channel sufficient to release the lug nuts from the channel. A main spring extends in the channel from the proximal end toward the distal end, the main spring biasing the lug nuts against the ball bearings.

    摘要: A monitor and governor circuit provides speed control for an engine. The governor portion of the circuit, principally a PID controller, includes a fail safe circuit to shut the engine down in the absence of signals related to engine RPM. In addition, the governor includes a high gain feature operable during start up to keep the integrator from saturating. The speed monitor portion of the circuit prevents engine damage in the event that the speed governor should fail as, for example, due to a shorted output transistor or an open speed setting potentiometer. The end user is not required to set the speed monitor since it can be preset to a selected percent of the governor set speed.

Self-watering plant container includes an airspace layer located between the bottom of the plant/soil container and the top of the water or nutrient solution pool in order to prevent excessive moisture or water from being absorbed into the plant/soil container, thereby preventing root rot. Self-watering plant container achieves this partly by special funnel shaped root-pruning aeration apertures in the bottom of its plant/soil container that allow very small roots and root hairs to grow through the bottom of plant/soil container and into the water reservoir below, while forcing larger roots back into the plant/soil container, and also allowing for aeration of the plant/soil container.

    摘要: The invention is a vermicomposter which is a composting device that uses earthworms or worms to accelerate the composting process. A multiple tray system is used to greatly increase compost production and for convenience of compost harvesting. The invention uses thermal siphon airflow and light-tight air permeable connections between its members to increase compost production. The vermicomposter comprises: a base with collection tray, at least one stacking tray, and a light-tight air-permeable lid. The upper surface of the base forms the collection tray which comprises: a set of sides, a bottom, a set of support ribs with notches, and is open on the top to form a liquid-tight container. Notches are sectioned out of the upper inner corner of each support rib. Each notch defines on the rib: a notch bottom surface, a notch side surface, a side vent distance, and a lower vent distance. One mode of the invention further comprises a worm ladder which comprises: a horizontal flange, at least one ramp, and large void area. A stacking tray comprises: a wide brim, a set of sides, a bottom, and is open on the top. A light-tight air-permeable lid is used to cover the upper most stacking tray and provide a light-tight air-permeable cover for the device. The lid comprises: a large dome area, a wide brim, a skirt, a set of vertical support ribs, and a set of lateral support ribs.
