Even if overvoltage is applied to the terminals due to ESD or the like, the energy of the overvoltage is consumed by the wiring resistance and the added capacitor, so that damage of the integrated circuit can be suppressed.

    摘要: Outside light is received using a light sensor, and in accordance with the outside light intensity, each of a first display mode which expresses multiple gray scales and a second display-y mode which expresses a gray scale smaller in number than that in the first display mode is switched and used. The switching is controlled by a display controller based on data of the outside light intensity. Accordingly, the visibility can be ensured in a wide range of situations, from under a fluorescent lamp in a dark place or inside, to under sunlight outside. In the second display mode, frequencies of a start pulse and a clock pulse to be inputted to a source signal line driver circuit are reduced and a driving voltage is decreased by the display controller; accordingly, a frame period can be longer than that in the first display mode and power consumption can be reduced.

    摘要: To extend the range of distance (between a display screen and the eye of a viewer) with which the viewer can see 3D images with the naked eye and to reduce power consumption. A parallax barrier in a shutter panel is controlled to be arranged optimally in accordance with the distance between the viewer and a display panel. Specifically, an optimal parallax barrier is formed as appropriate by selectively switching a light-transmitting state and a light-shielding state of a plurality of optical shutter regions and a display element unit of pixels depending on a retention state. The retention state is realized in such a manner that at least one of electrodes between which a liquid crystal layer is sandwiched is connected to a transistor including a semiconductor layer containing an oxide semiconductor and the transistor is turned off.

Specifically, the common wiring is routed outwardly with respect to an external input terminal to which a signal is input from the, outside, to avoid intersections of the signal lines and the common wiring. Thus, parasitic capacitance between the common wiring and the signal lines is avoided, so that the display device can operate at high speed with low power consumption.

A manufacturing method of a D/A converter circuit of the invention comprises the steps of: forming a resistor string 11 which includes a plurality of resistors R0 to R7 connected in series with each other between reference voltages, and a plurality of switching elements S0 to S3 connected with each connection node of the resistors R0 to R7, wherein: each of the resistors R0 to R7 is a thin film element crystallized by linear laser irradiation; disposing all forming parts of the resistors configuring the resistor string 11 within a laser irradiation area 19; and crystallizing all the forming parts of the resistors which are disposed within the laser irradiation area with the same laser shot.
