The method further includes measuring brightness information at the target position under a constant applied voltage, wherein the brightness information includes brightness information of the backlight module and brightness information of the display panel, and a display efficiency of the display panel is calculated according to the brightness information.

The method includes identifying a first one of the plurality of semantic values that satisfies a criterion. The first one of the plurality of semantic values is associated with the first portion of the image data. The method includes mapping, based on a function of a portion of the plurality of luminance values, the image data to predetermined display characteristics of the first portion of the image data within a performance threshold.

摘要: A display device and a method for operating a display device disclosed herein include transmitting a proximity signal from a proximity sensor, the proximity sensor being positioned under a lower surface of a surface layer with an illumination component being positioned between the surface layer and the proximity sensor, in response to the illumination component being deactivated, receiving a reflected proximity signal based on the proximity signal, determining a proximity value based on the reflected proximity signal and modifying an operation of the display device based on the proximity value. The modifying the operation of the display device includes any one or a combination of activating the illumination component, deactivating the illumination component, or modifying a property of the illumination component.

摘要: A system is presented for a display engine. An optical imaging pathway comprises at least a selectively reflective image forming device. An illumination beam pathway comprises an optical source cluster including one or more optical sources, optical componentry configured to generate uniform illumination of the selectively reflective image forming device, and one or more photodiodes positioned to capture light reflected off the selectively reflective image forming device. A controller is configured to command the selectively reflective image forming device to operate with a predetermined reflectivity. While the selectively reflective image forming device is operating with the predetermined reflectivity, the optical source is commanded to emit a pulse of light and the one or more photodiodes are read out. A performance profile of one or more of the optical sources and the selectively reflective image forming device is adjusted based on the photodiode readout.

摘要: An electronic device may have a display. The display may have light-emitting diode pixels or other pixels. Due to aging-induced degradation of the pixels, the output intensity and color of the pixels may vary over the lifetime of the display. Control circuitry in the device may use an ambient light sensor to measure ambient light and stray display light. The display light measurements may be used in monitoring aging effects so that the control circuitry can compensate for aging-induced pixel degradation. Display light measurements may be made over a sequence of image frames. The image frames in the sequence of frames may include white and black frames or frames of different colors interleaved with black frames. Different frame intensities may be used during measurements of stray display light to gather gamma curves for the display.

摘要: A sensor integrated circuit (IC) employing opposite facing ambient light sensor and proximity sensor, and related electronic devices and fabrication methods. As an example, the sensor IC can be integrated into an electronic device (e.g., a wearable device) to detect the proximity of a user and ambient light to control functions of the electronic device. To provide for the proximity sensor and the ambient light sensor to disposed in the sensor IC face outward in different (e.g., opposite) directions in a package to align towards a user and the user's experience of ambient light, the proximity sensor and the ambient light sensor are disposed on different sides of the sensor IC. In this manner, the ambient light sensor can be facing in the direction of ambient light perceived by a user of the electronic device, and the proximity sensor detect the user from a different side of the electronic device.

摘要: An electronic device, method and computer program product enable an enhanced user experience by adjusting a white balance of a display device according to user preferences in combination with automatically adjusting luminance and chromaticity in response to ambient light conditions. The electronic device includes a color-sensitive ambient light sensor (ALS) and the display device. A controller of the electronic device measures luminance and chromaticity of ambient light using the ALS. The controller adjusts display brightness of the display device in relation to intensity of the luminance of the ambient light. The controller automatically determines a display target correlated color temperature (CCT) in relation to the chromaticity of the ambient light. The controller determines a display target white balance CCT adjusted in relation to user selection(s) related to white balance. The controller sets the display device to digitally map colors about a neutral color defined by the display target white balance.
