Abstract:
An information storage device, by which only information outputted in a state desired by a user can be stored and disclosed with minimum time and trouble of the user, is provided. After FAX transmission, the FAX image is displayed and an inquiry concerning whether to store the FAX image or not is conducted. When the user performs an operation designating registration of the FAX image in a database (i.e. when a registration command button is pressed by the user), the FAX image is registered in the database. When the user performs an operation designating discard of the FAX image (i.e. when a discard command button is pressed by the user), the FAX image is discarded. Since the user can decide whether or not to register the FAX image in the database after checking the image to be registered, registration of undesired image in the database can be prevented.
Abstract:
An image processing device is provided with a reference position determining system that determines a reference position based on image data of an original, an image scanning system that scans the original line by line, the line extending in a main scanning direction, an image storing system that stores a predetermined number of lines of image data scanned by the image scanning system, a compensation value determining system that determines a compensation value which is used to make at least a position of a point in the predetermined number of lines of image data stored in the image storing system coincide with the reference position, and a compensating system that compensates the position of the predetermined number of lines of image data in accordance with the compensation value determined by the compensation value determining system.
Abstract:
An apparatus for producing dot-matrix data from outline data defining an original outline of an image in an X-Y coordinate system, including a first transforming device transforming, according to transformation data, first interval data defining original intervals regarding the X and/or Y axis, into second interval data defining transformed intervals; a correcting device correcting the second interval data into third interval data defining corrected intervals; a determining device determining, based on the first and third interval data, a transformation function for each of at least one original interval; a second transforming device transforming original or first outline data into second outline data defining a transformed outline, the first outline data including original sets of x and y coordinates defining the original outline, the second outline data including transformed sets of x and y coordinates defining the transformed outline, the second transforming device transforming the x and/or y coordinate of at least one original set of x and y coordinates within each of at least one original interval, into the x and/or y coordinate of at least one transformed set of x and y coordinates within a corresponding one of the corrected intervals, according to the transformation function for the each original interval; and a producing device producing the dot-matrix data from the second outline data.
Abstract:
A data compressing device for preparing compressed outline data from normal outline data representative of an outline of a character which consists of a plurality of segments connected end to end so as to form a closed loop. The normal outline data includes coordinate data representative of X and Y coordinate of segment specifying points which determine positions of the segments, and segment type data indicative of a type of each segments. The device is adapted to determine whether or not all of a plurality of successive points of the segment specifying points which successive points are successively located along the closed loop have a same X or Y coordinate, and omits the X or Y coordinate for at least one of those successive points, to thereby prepare the compressed outline data, if all of the successive points have the same X or Y coordinate which is equal to the X or Y coordinate to be omitted. Also disclosed is a device adapted to convert the compressed outline data into the normal outline data, by restoring the X and Y coordinates omitted in the compressed outline data.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes: a first designation portion which designates a directory from plural directories stored in a storage medium; a first printing portion which index prints images on a first print medium based on files stored in the directory designated by the first designation portion, the files including at least one of an image data file and a sub-directory; a display portion; a first display control portion which controls the display portion to display information for designating the files after the images are index-printed by the first printing portion; a second designation portion which designates one of the files based on the information displayed on the display portion; and a second printing portion which prints an image on a second print medium based on the designated one of the files.
Abstract:
There is provided a communication device which has a first communication system that communicates with an external telephone device and a second communication system that communicates with an external computer. The communication device comprises a call unit and a data acquisition unit. The call unit makes a call to a telephone device designated by a user using the first communication system. If a destination of the call unit is decided by the user's designation, a data acquisition unit obtains data corresponding to the destination telephone device using the second communication system. By only making a call operation, the user can obtain the data corresponding to the destination telephone device from the communication device through the computer network which is a different kind of network from the telephone line network. That is, the communication device can reduce user's operations to access related devices over various kinds of networks.
Abstract:
A printing system, comprising a detecting system, which detects from a content to be printed a link destination address as an address assigned to information being associated with the content, a code symbol generating system, which generates a code symbol representing the link destination address detected by the detecting system in a format recognizable to a code symbol reader, a print control system, which controls the code symbol generated by the code symbol generating system to be appended to the content and a printer unit included in the print control system to print the contents along with the appended code symbol.
Abstract:
In response to a positional relationship (distance, or a combination of distance and angle) between an information output unit and a user who uses information displayed in the display unit, a control unit changes the amount of information to be displayed in the display unit based on an information level, the number of pieces of information, a scrolling speed or a cycle. In some aspects, the control unit controls the information output unit to increase the amount of information to be output when the user is close to the display unit.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes: a memory connecting portion, to which an external memory is detachably connected; a detecting portion that detects a connection state of the external memory; a printing portion that prints an image based on an image file to be printed which is stored in the external memory; and a controller that performs an automatic printing processing in which the controller controls the printing portion to automatically start printing the image in response to a detection by the detecting portion of connection of the external memory to the memory connecting portion.
Abstract:
A data processing apparatus scans a web page image printed on paper, recognizes the character array for a URL included in the image, acquires data for the web page in the image through the Internet, identifies the positions of entry spaces in the web page, recognizes the content entered by hand on the paper, and stores this content in RAM. The data processing apparatus prompts the user to select whether to perform a verification print for verifying the recognized content and prints the recognized content when the user indicates such a desire. Further, the data processing apparatus prompts the user to select whether to transmit the content to the server and transmits the content stored in RAM when the user indicates such a desire.
