摘要： An image forming apparatus has an image bearing member, and a density detecting device for detecting the density of an image for density detection formed on the image bearing member. Image forming conditions are controlled on the basis of an output from the density detecting device. The density detecting device has a regular reflection type density detecting device for detecting the density by regular reflection light from a portion to be detected, and a diffuse reflection type density detecting device for detecting the density by diffuse reflection light from the portion to be detected. The output value from the diffuse reflection type density detecting device is corrected on the basis of the output value from the regular reflection type density detecting device which has detected a reference image, and the output value from the diffuse reflection type density detecting device which has detected the reference image.

摘要： The present invention provides an image forming apparatus for forming an image on a transfer material by using an intermediate transfer member, having a first transfer bias power supply for applying transfer bias to a first transfer unit to generate first transfer bias between a photosensitive member and an intermediate transfer member, when toner images are successively firstly-transferred onto the intermediate transfer member, and a second transfer bias power supply for providing constant current to generate second transfer bias between the intermediate transfer member and the secondary transfer electrode, and wherein the second transfer bias power supply applies, in an overlap fashion, transfer bias of current having a current value greater than a current value of the transfer bias to be applied to an upstream image area of the transfer material and having the same polarity as that of the latter transfer bias to at least a non-image area of the transfer material at an end portion thereof in a transfer material conveying direction, thereby preventing the toner images from scattering.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a feeder means and a recorder. The feeder feeds a sheet of recording paper to a predetermined position in response to a spare paper feed signal instructing the feeding as the sheet of recording paper to the predetermined position preliminarily, and then feeds the sheet of recording paper being stopped at the predetermined position again in response to a record request signal. The recorder records an image on the sheet of recording paper fed by the feeder means through an electrophotographic process. The recorder means starts preparation to execute the electrophotographic process upon receiving the spare paper feed signal. As a results, throughput is increased without causing other problems.

摘要： Method and apparatus for continuously producing emulsions with particles of a disperse phase liquid in a continuous phase liquid, employing an emulsifying vessel which is interiorly provided with a gravitative flow surface and a feeder for supplying the continuous phase liquid to the flow surface for forming thereon a stream of the continuous phase liquid. On the other hand, disposed within the emulsifying vessel is a rotary atomizing head which is connected to a disperse phase liquid source and a rotational drive means and maintained at a high voltage to stratify and form a spray of atomized particles of the disperse phase liquid flying toward the flow surface under the influence of centrifugal force and electrostatic action. The disperse phase particles from the rotary atomizing head are entrained and dispersed in the stream of the continuous phase liquid on the flow surface of the emulsifying vessel to form an emulsion. The resulting emulsion is collected in a receptacle. In some cases, the emulsifier is provided with a hot steam feed pipe for feeding hot steam to the rotary atomizing head to prevent solidification of atomized disperse phase particles on the atomizing head.
