Abstract:
A method and a user equipment (UE) are described for controlling timers in a wireless communication system including a first type network communicating based on a number of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols and a second type network which is different from the first type network. An update message is received that activates an idle mode signaling reduction (ISR) function of the UE. If the ISR function is activated in the UE, a periodic tracking area updating (P-TAU) timer is started, which is used to periodically notify availability of the UE. If the P-TAU timer expires and a mobility management backoff (MM-BO) timer is running, a deactivate ISR timer corresponding to the first type of network is started. The MM-BO timer is configured to start when a MM-BO time value is received at the UE.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) in a communication system, and a method thereof are discussed. The method according to one embodiment includes receiving a deactivate bearer context request message; if a bearer identity in the deactivate bearer context request message is that of a default bearer to a packet data network (PDN), deleting all bearer contexts associated with the PDN; if a cause code in the deactivate bearer context request message indicates that reactivation is requested, stopping a session management back-off timer associated with a previously-established data connection if the session management back-off timer is running. The session management back-off timer is a timer starting if a session management back-off time value is received. The previously-established data connection is associated with an access point name (APN). The method according to the embodiment further includes re-initiating a PDN connectivity procedure for the APN after stopping the session management back-off timer.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) in a communication system, and a method thereof. The method includes establishing; by a user equipment (UE), a first data connection associated with an access point name (APN); receiving, by the UE, a session management back-off time value when a request of a bearer resource modification or a bearer resource allocation for the established first data connection is rejected; starting, by the UE, a session management back-off timer according to the session management back-off time value, the session management back-off timer being associated with the established first data connection; if the UE receives a deactivate bearer context request message indicating that reactivation is requested, stopping the session management back-off timer if the session management back-off timer is running; and establishing, by the UE, a second data connection associated with the APN after stopping the session management back-off timer.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a wireless communication system, and more particularly, to a method and an apparatus for processing a NAS signaling request. A method for performing a non-access stratum (NAS) signaling process by means of a terminal in a wireless communication system according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a step of receiving a first message that includes information indicating a network failure from a network node of a first network; a step of starting a timer relating to a network selection; and a step of selecting a second network from among network candidates excluding the first network during the operation of the timer relating to a network selection.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a wireless communication system. Specifically, the present invention is directed to a method of controlling network access and an apparatus therefore, wherein the method comprises: receiving a message related with access parameters, the message including a first N-bit field, a second N-bit field and a third 1-bit field, wherein the first N-bit field indicates a maximum number of slots the wireless device is to delay due to random back-off between consecutive access probes, the second N-bit field indicates a maximum number of slots the wireless device is to delay due to random back-off between successive enhanced access probe sequences, and the third 1-bit field for indicating a network congestion situation.

Abstract:
The technical features of this document provide a method and wireless apparatus for performing UE's location area update in a communication system comprising two different radio access network (e.g., E-UTRAN and GERAN/UTRAN). In the communication system, various entities such as MME, VLR, RNC and VLR are included. This document provides a condition when a location area update (LAU) procedure is initiated. In particular, the LAU is performed when the UE which has first performed a combined TAU to the MATE and VLR moves from an E-UTRAN cell to a GERAN/UTRAN cell both belonging to a same location area (LA).
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for reliably and quickly establishing multiple reverse links in multi-carrier wireless networks is provided. Signaling channels are established the on an existing forward link in order to transmit reverse link power control bits and the acknowledgment indications.
