Abstract:
A boss and a capture sleeve for use with a pressure vessel are disclosed. The capture sleeve is disposed within a liner of the pressure vessel, adjacent an opening. A plurality of attachment members disposed on the capture sleeve are received by the boss, securing the boss to the liner. The pressure vessel including the boss and the capture sleeve minimizes the effects of pressure and temperature variations, militates against an axial and rotational movement of the boss, and facilitates installation and replacement of a seal disposed adjacent the boss.
Abstract:
A pressure vessel for storing a fluid is disclosed. The pressure vessel includes a vessel liner forming a hollow tube and including a plurality of layers with an aperture formed therein, wherein at least one of the layers is a barrier layer and an end cap coupled to the vessel liner, wherein the end cap has a plurality of layers, and wherein at least one of the layers of the end cap is a barrier layer.
Abstract:
A heat pipe is disclosed, the heat pipe capable of transferring heat to actuate a pressure relief device by heat transfer through either capillary action involving a wicking material and a working fluid, or by a consumable fuse in the case of leakage of the working fluid from the heat pipe.
Abstract:
A seal for a vessel is disclosed which militates against a leakage of fluid during expansion and contraction of the vessel due to changes pressure and temperature. Inner sealing surfaces of the seal form substantially fluid-tight seals in response to at least one of temperatures below a predetermined temperature and pressures below a predetermined pressure and outer sealing surfaces of the seal form substantially fluid-tight seals in response to at least one of temperatures above the predetermined temperature and pressures above the predetermined pressure.
Abstract:
A seal assembly is disclosed including a support member, a first seal, a second seal spaced apart from the first seal, and a third seal, wherein the first seal militates against a leakage of fluid when an interior of an article to be sealed is subjected to at least one of temperatures below a predetermined temperature and pressures below a predetermined pressure, and the second seal and the third seal militate against the leakage of fluid when the interior of the article to be sealed is subjected to at least one of temperatures above the predetermined temperature and pressures above the predetermined pressure.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an inflator for a safety device, in particular for a vehicle occupant restraint system, comprising a housing (1, 15; 22, 23), a combustion chamber formed in the housing and including a solid propellant (6) for generating hot gas, and a coolant (13) introduced into a predetermined flow path of the hot gas. The inflator in accordance with the invention is characterized in that the flow path of the hot gas passes through a nozzle (10) comprising a pitot zone (20) in which the hot gas emerging from the combustion chamber (21) has a high static pressure, and comprising a nozzle neck (19) in which the hot gas builds up a high dynamic pressure, and in that the coolant (13) is arranged in a sleeve-shaped reservoir (11) extending from the pitot zone (20) at least in part into the nozzle neck (19). The inflator in accordance with the invention permits an effective reduction in the exhaust gas temperature of the generated hot gas.
Abstract:
A method for reducing a mutual influence of pixels of a pixel group having at least one first pixel allocated to a first image and having at least one second pixel adjacent thereto allocated to a second image, the first image being capable of being represented on a viewing direction-dependent display device so as to be recognizable from a first direction of view, and the second image being capable of being represented on the display device so as to be recognizable from a second direction of view differing from the first direction of view, the method having a step of adaptation, using a processing rule, of a first brightness factor of the at least one first pixel and of a second brightness factor of the at least one second pixel in order to reduce the mutual influence.

Abstract:
A boss system for a pressure vessel includes a boss and a capture sleeve. The capture sleeve is substantially embedded within a liner of the pressure vessel adjacent a vessel opening. The capture sleeve is provided with a plurality of attachment members configured to cooperate with the boss to secure the boss to the liner of the pressure vessel. The boss system minimizes the effects of pressure and temperature variations during use of the pressure vessel, militates against an axial and rotational movement of the boss, and facilitates installation and replacement of a seal disposed adjacent the boss.
Abstract:
A device for outputting different images on at least two display units includes a control unit for reading image data of the different images from an image memory, for producing a horizontal synchronization signal and for outputting the image data and the horizontal synchronization signal. The device also includes a processing unit for receiving the image data and the horizontal synchronization signal, for producing additional synchronization signals respectively for one of the at least two display units as a function of the synchronization signal provided by the control unit and a clock signal, and for dividing the image data transmitted by the control unit in such a way that the image data of the different images are output to one of the display units.
