    摘要: The invention relates to the chemical bonding of a polymer/or polymers onto non-metallic substrates such as cellophane by ultrasonic techniques. The cellophane film is preactivated by contacting with silver nitrate solution followed by treatment with potassium hydroxide solution whereby particles of silver and silver oxide are uniformly distributed, in situ, over the surface of cellophane film. The pretreated cellophane film when contacted with grafting solution, that contains monomers, prepolymers, catalyst, graft initiator and other ingredients of the composition, which is being agitated with ultrasonic energy results in polymerization of monomer/prepolymer onto the surface of the cellophane film.

    摘要: The invention is in a conductive prepolymer composition which when polymerized and cured is used to coat a substrate material such as steel, stainless steel, iron, brass, copper, aluminum, platinum, titanium, silver, gold, Telfon, plastics, glass, or combinations thereof. It comprises: (a) from 25 to 99 parts by weight of a poly(amide-imide) prepolymer; (b) from 1 to 25 parts by weight of a trifunctional ester selected from the group consisting of trifunctional methacrylate ester, trifunctional acrylate ester, and mixtures thereof; (c) from 0.5 to 15 parts by weight of an organo-reactive silane consisting of an amino group containing alkoxysilane having the formula NH2(CH2)nSi(OC2H5)3, where n is an integer from 1 to 20; and (d) a conductive additive. The invention also provides polymer coated substrates having a tenaciously bound polymer layer which is corrosion resistant, has advantageous properties of conductivity and can be soldered.

    摘要: Crosslinkable aqueous-based coating compositions are described which are covalently bonded to a wooden surface to which they are applied. The compositions contain a crosslinkable polymer, a mono and/or polyethylenically unsaturated monomer which can be graft polymerized onto cellulose molecules present in said wooden surface, a water soluble peroxy free radical polymerization catalyst, a source of cations capable of creating free radical sites in said cellulose molecules and, optionally, a crosslinking agent for said crosslinkable polymer. The coating may be air dried under ambient conditions to provide a crosslinked coating which is chemically bonded to the underlying wooden surface.
