    摘要: Novel two-phase yellow phosphors are disclosed having a peak emission intensity at wavelengths ranging from about 555 nm to about 580 nm when excited by a radiation source having a wavelength ranging from 220 nm to 530 nm. The present phosphors may be represented by the formula a[Srx(M1)1-x]zSiO4●(1-a)[Sry(M2)1-y]uSiO5:Eu2+D, wherein M1 and M2 are at least one of a divalent metal such as Ba, Mg, Ca, and Zn, the values of a, x, y, z and u follow the following relationships: 0.6≦a≦0.85; 0.3≦x≦0.6; 0.85≦y≦1; 1.5≦z≦2.5; 2.6≦u≦3.3; and Eu and D each range from 0.001 to about 0.5. D is an anion selected from the group consisting of F, Cl, Br, S, and N, and at least some of the D anion replaces oxygen in the host silicate lattice of the phosphor. The present yellow phosphors have applications in high brightness white LED illumination systems, LCD display panels, plasma display panels, and yellow LEDs and illumination systems.

    摘要: This invention provides novel fuel cell electrodes and catalysts comprising a series of catalytically active thin-film metal alloys with low platinum concentration supported on nanostructured materials (nanoparticles). Processing of the electrodes and catalysts can include electrodeposition methods, and high-pressure coating techniques. In certain embodiments, an integrated gas-diffusion/electrode/catalyst layer can be prepared by processing catalyst thin films and nanoparticles into gas-diffusion media such as Toray or SGL carbon fiber papers. The catalysts can be placed in contact with an electrolyte membrane for PEM fuel cell applications.

    摘要: Novel systems for combinatorially screening an array of electrochemical cells are disclosed. The screening aparatus may comprise a system of electrodes and electrolytes common to each of the members of an electrochemical cell array. An electrochemical probe is used to supply a reactive fluid (or reactive species) to only one of the cells in the array at a time. The probe is configured to address each of the cells of the array individually, and to be chemically isolated from all of the other cells of the array. Thus, the cells of the array that are not being addressed by the probe are in a non-active condition. Such a system is capable of combinatorially screening a library of materials, including catalyst, electrode, and electrolyte materials, wherein each of the members of the library defines one of the cells of the array.

    摘要: An audio jack connector comprises a rectangular-shaped insulating housing, and a plurality of different contacts. The insulative housing has a base, and a mating portion. A channel extends through the base and the mating portion. A front end of the channel defines a gap, and a number of receiving slits defined on the base at two sides of the channel, the base defining a depression communicating with the channel at a top wall thereof. A first and a second contacts are received in the slits. A third contact mates with the top wall and comprises a mounting portion extending beyond the bottom wall of the insulative housing. A fourth contact is installed in a front end of the insulative housing and has an engaging portion extending through the gap and inserted into the front end of the channel for electrically connecting the mating plug connector.
