Abstract:
A technique is provided to control transmitting, by a mobile station (MS) that uses carrier aggregation, a message including an interoperability test (IOT) indication for one or more uplink-downlink (UL-DL) configuration combinations of time-division-duplex (TDD) radio frames for use by a primary cell and a secondary cell. In one example implementation, an IOT indication may be provided for one or more (or each) uplink-downlink configuration combinations (e.g., one IOT indication per UL-DL configuration combination). In another example implementation, an IOT indication may be provided for one or more sets of uplink-downlink configuration combinations, where each set may include a plurality of UL-DL configuration combinations.
Abstract:
A technique including detecting respective pairs of primary and auxiliary priority indicator values for a plurality of radio resources of a radio access network in one or more transmissions by said radio access network; and selecting a cell to adopt as a serving cell based at least partly on both said primary indicator values and said auxiliary indicator values; wherein the primary priority indicator values for said plurality of radio resources provide an indication of the priority order for said plurality of radio resources to a first degree of resolution; and the combinations of primary and auxiliary priority indicator values for said plurality of radio resources provide an indication of the priority order for said plurality of radio resources to a second degree of resolution higher than said first degree of resolution.
Abstract:
A User Equipment including at least one processor, and at least one memory for storing instructions to be executed by the processor, wherein the at least one memory and the instructions are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the User Equipment at least: to conduct a processing for deciding whether or not it is acceptable to divert at least a part of a communication traffic of a communication currently conducted by the User Equipment with a first communication network to a second communication network, in case the decision is that it is not acceptable, to prepare a report indicating that the diversion of the communication traffic to the second communication network is not conducted, and to cause a transmission of the report to the first communication network.

Abstract:
A method of avoiding mass offloading of user devices, UE's (14), connected to a cellular network (15, 16) such as 3GPP LTE to a second wireless network such as a WLAN (6,8), the method comprising: an ANDSF server (12) broadcasting (in a SIB message, for example) a set of parameters representing offload thresholds to be applied by UE's in idle mode, and also additional information such as a bitmap indicating which of those parameters are also applicable to UE's in connected mode; and a user device, UE (14), receiving the set of parameters and the additional information, and deciding whether to migrate or not to the second network in dependence of whether it is in idle or connected mode, of the parameters and of the additional information.

Abstract:
A method configures a communication between a base station, a first user equipment adapted to operate with a first system bandwidth and a second user equipment adapted to operate with a second system bandwidth. The first system bandwidth is broader than the second system bandwidth. The base station, the first user equipment and the second user equipment are located within a cellular network system. The method includes providing first common channels or signals within the first system bandwidth and providing second common channels or signals within the second system bandwidth, wherein a part of the first common channels or signals and a part of the second common channels or signals are superpositioned. The method further includes configuring at least one of the common channels or signals of the part of the first common channels or signals to be used by the first user equipment and the second user equipment.
Abstract:
A method includes transmitting a paging indicator indicating to user equipment assigned to one or more groups that the user equipment are to attempt to receive paging messages including paging information targeted to at least one of the one or more groups; and transmitting in a channel the paging information in the paging messages. Another method includes receiving a paging indicator indicating a user equipment is to attempt to receive paging messages including paging information targeted to at least one of one or more groups; and receiving from a channel the paging information in the paging messages. A method includes sending a request message to user equipment assigned to one or more groups, the request message comprising an indication to cause the user equipment to read device trigger information in a system broadcast message; and sending the device trigger information in the system broadcast message.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for user equipment (UE) capability signaling for dual connectivity (DC) are provided. One method may include transmitting to at least one UE, by a network node, a message comprising a flag indicating that the apparatus supports dual connectivity and/or wants to receive UE capability indications of DC support. The method further includes, based on the presence of the flag, receiving, from the at least one UE, the dual connectivity capabilities of the at least one UE.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided. The method includes providing a primary secondary cell by a second node for a user equipment operating in dual connectivity with a first node and the second node; and receiving a request from the user equipment requesting that the primary secondary cell provide the functionality of a primary cell for the user equipment when a radio link between the user equipment and a primary cell provided by the first node is lost.
