    摘要: The light beam scanning device has a casing injection molded from magnesium or magnesium alloy as the material. A polygon mirror and a motor are sealed in the inside of the casing and a cover covering the latter. Since the thickness of the magnesium or magnesium alloy material can be reduced, heat generated from a motor is dissipated satisfactorily. Heat dissipating fins are formed to the casing to promote heat dissipation and enhance the strength of the casing.

    摘要: A scanning apparatus has a luminous flux deflector and a single f.theta. lens. The deflector deflects a convergent luminous flux on a scanned surface at a uniform angular velocity. The f.theta. lens is arranged between the deflector and the scanned surface. The f.theta. lens is bi-convex in a main scanning direction and is made of a material having a refractive index of at most 1.6. One surface of the f.theta. lens in a main scanning direction is so curved that a radius of curvature in the main scanning direction A decreases as an angle of view in the main scanning direction increases.

    摘要: A novel laser beam scanning system which stores fundamental components in an optical unit by way of including a laser light source, a photosensor for detecting image-writing starting point per scanning, a lens for focusing a laser beam from the laser light source, and a lens for condensing a laser beam reflected by a polygon mirror on the photosensor. The laser beam reflected by the polygon mirror sequentially scans the photosensor, the laser light source, and a recording medium. When the laser beam reflected by the polygon mirror scans the laser light source, the laser light source ceases light-emitting operation. Furthermore, the laser beam reflected by the polygon mirror is condensed on an edge of a photoreceptive surface of the photosensor.

    摘要: A drawing method for forming a reflective curved surface by pressing a metal plate fitted in a fixed die with a movable die. The fixed die is composed of a lower die and a core, and the movable die is composed of an upper die and a presser. During the drawing, the metal plate is pressed to have a compressed border portion between a non-pressed portion and a curved surface pressed portion. It is the most desirable to compress the border portion to have a thickness which is 70% of the thickness of the metal plate before drawing.

    摘要: A valve operating system in an internal combustion engine includes a switchover pin which is movable between an associatively operating position where adjacent ones of rocker arms are operated in association with each other, and an associative-operation releasing position where the associative-operation is released, the switchover pin receiving at axially opposite ends thereof a hydraulic pressure force acting toward the associatively operating position and a spring force acting toward the associative-operation releasing position, a cylindrical roller shaft which is fixed to one of the adjacent rocker arms, and into which the switchover pin is slidably fitted in response to the movement thereof toward the associatively operating position, and a roller rotatably carried on the roller shaft to come into rolling contact with a cam provided on a camshaft. In this valve operating system, at least one of axially opposite end surfaces of the roller shaft formed of a material harder than that of the one rocker arm, which receives the switchover pin, protrudes from a side surface of the one rocker arm. Thus, a wear powder can be prevented from entering into the roller shaft, thereby ensuring the smooth switching-over operation of the switchover pin.
