Abstract: An electronic aerosol-generating device includes a housing extending between first and second ends along a longitudinal axis. The second end of the housing defines a cavity for receiving a consumable containing an aerosol generating substrate. The device further includes a heating component comprising a heating element extending along the longitudinal axis within the cavity and configured to penetrate into the aerosol generating substrate when the consumable is inserted into the cavity. The heating element comprises a material having a Curie temperature of less than 500° C. The device also includes an inductor comprising an inductor coil positioned to transfer magnetic energy to the heating element. The inductor is configured to induce eddy currents and/or hysteresis losses in the heating element. The device further includes a power supply operably connected to the inductor and control electronics operably connected to the power supply and configured to control heating of the heating element.

An aerosol-generating device is also provided, including a power supply; at least one heater; a cavity for receiving the capsule containing the aerosol-forming substrate; and a mouthpiece including a piercing element for piercing the lid of the capsule, wherein the at least one heater is configured to be insertable into a recess of the capsule. An aerosol-generating system including the aerosol-generating device and the capsule is also provided.

An inductor (703) may be inductively coupled to the susceptor material (30, 31) of the aerosol-generating article (10, 12) during use.

Abstract: The invention relates to an aerosol-generating device comprising a main body and a top cover. Abstract: An aerosol-generating system including a fluid-permeable electric heater assembly is provided, the fluid-permeable electric heater assembly including: an electrically insulating substrate; an aperture formed in the electrically insulating substrate; and a heater element fixed to the electrically insulating substrate, the heater element spanning the aperture and comprising a plurality of electrically conductive filaments connected to first and second electrically conductive contact portions, the first and the second electrically conductive contact portions disposed on opposite sides of the aperture to one another, and the plurality of electrically conductive filaments form interstices, the first and the second electrically conductive contact portions being configured to allow contact with an external power supply; and the aerosol-generating system having a longitudinal axis and the heater element being substantially flat and extending parallel to the longitudinal axis.
