Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine whether a capability of the UE is sufficient for a make-before-break (MBB) handover from a source set of cells to a target set of cells, wherein the source set of cells is provided by a first set of transmit/receive points (TRPs) and the target set of cells is provided by a second set of TRPs; and selectively perform the MBB handover using a first capability configuration for the MBB handover or a second capability configuration for the MBB handover based at least in part on whether the capability of the UE is sufficient for the MBB handover. Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for beam management for make-before-break (MBB) handover. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes establishing a first cell connection with a first base station (BS) while maintaining an existing second cell connection with a second BS, and determining that a first transmission time of a first signal transmitted by the first BS is less than a threshold time duration from a second transmission time of a second signal transmitted by the second BS. In some examples, the first signal is associated with one or more first communication metrics and the second signal is associated with one or more second communication metrics, wherein each of the one or more first communication metrics and the one or more second communication metrics comprise one or more quality of service (QoS) metrics.

Abstract: A base station transmits an indication of a configuration indicating one or more time-variable parameters for a group-specific wake-up signal (WUS) to an associated group of user equipment (UEs). The base station determines a value of the one or more time-variable parameters based on a time associated with the group-specific WUS and transmits the group-specific WUS to the group of UEs based on the determined value. A UE in the group of UEs receives the indication of the configuration from the base station and determines a value of the one or more time-variable parameters based on a time associated with the group-specific WUS. The UE monitors for the group-specific WUS based on the determined value.

In one aspect, a method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE), includes receiving, from a base station (BS) via a first cell, an activation command to activate a second cell different from the first cell, and receiving, from the BS via the second cell during an activation period, a first reference signal different from a synchronization signal block (SSB). The method further includes performing a measurement of the first reference signal, and operating in the second cell based on the measurement. In some aspects, using reference signals different from SSBs may reduce the delay associated with activating the secondary cell.
