Abstract:
Session initiation messages may be compressed using templates for evolved data compression scheme (eDCS). One or more session initiation messages may be exchanged between various network entities, such as UEs and base stations, for purposes such as registration, call setup, and call modification, for example. Session initiation messages may include header fields which identify the caller and characteristics of the device receiving the call, and may also contain payload, which describes the audio/video codec characteristics. Many of these contents may be repeated across all user devices of the same vendor attached to the same operator and may be compressed using templates to enhance system efficiency. These templates may be known at the transmitter and receiver, and reduce the data that has to be carried over air.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE). In some examples, the UE may identify an initialization and refresh (IR) packet at the radio link control (RLC) layer based the size of the IR packet, where the IR packet comprises a larger ciphered PDU size than a compressed RoHC packet. Accordingly, once the UE identifies the received packet as an IR packet, the UE may attempt to decipher the IR packet using one or more HFN offset values. In one example, the UE may determine whether the IR packet is deciphered correctly based on cyclic redundancy check (CRC) value of the deciphered IR packet. As a result, the present disclosure allows the UE to re-synchronize with the transmitting device by at least one of incrementing or decrementing an HFN value at the receiving device.
Abstract:
Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate providing flow control feedback for controlling downlink data transmission rates. Various schemes can be utilized to send the flow control feedback from an access terminal to a base station. For example, a control PDU (e.g., MAC control PDU, PDCP control PDU) can be generated based upon a level of resource utilization of the access terminal, and sent to the base station for controlling the downlink data transmission rate. Following this example, a type of control PDU, a value included within the control PDU, etc. can be selected as a function of the level of resource utilization. By way of another illustration, a CQI report that includes a value selected as a function of the level of resource utilization associated with the access terminal can be generated and transmitted to the base station for controlling the downlink data transmission rate.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus receives a user service description (USD) message. When a frequency indicated in the USD message is not a current frequency, the apparatus determines that a system information message is received, determines that the frequency indicated in the USD message is included in the system information message, determines that the frequency is a neighboring cell frequency, sets a priority of the frequency to a highest priority, and measures a signal strength of the frequency when the frequency is included in the system information message, performs a cell reselection determination procedure based on the signal strength of the frequency, performs cell reselection to the neighboring cell based on a result of the cell reselection determination procedure, and acquires the multicast service in the neighboring cell on the frequency.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station using multiple receivers and receive an indication from the base station to activate a second bandwidth part of a set of bandwidth parts configured for the UE. In response to the indication, the UE may switch from operating in a first bandwidth part to operating in the second bandwidth part and adjust a quantity of active receivers at the UE based on switching from operating in the first bandwidth part to operating in the second bandwidth part. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may adjust the quantity of active receivers at the UE based on monitoring for downlink grants from the base station.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A system may support techniques for triggering user equipment (UE) assistance information (UAI) based on mobility, wake up signal (WUS) configuration, or both. In some cases, a UE may communicate with a network node (e.g., a base station) on a first channel according to a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration. The UE may determine that a speed of the UE satisfies a mobility threshold and may transmit UAI requesting one or more updated DRX configuration parameters based on the speed of the UE satisfying the mobility threshold. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may receive signaling configuring the UE to monitor for WUSs and may transmit UAI requesting one or more updated DRX configuration parameters based on the WUS configuration. The UE may receive control signaling configuring the DRX configuration with the one or more requested parameters in response to the UAI.
Abstract:
A delta configuration is signaled for handover of a wireless communication device (e.g., a user equipment, UE) from a first form of connectivity to a second form of connectivity. For example, a UE with master cell group (MCG) connectivity may be handed-over to multiple radio access technology-dual connectivity (MR-DC). In some examples, a UE with standalone (SA) connectivity may be handed-over to non-standalone (NSA) connectivity (e.g., dual connectivity). In conjunction with this handover the UE may be signaled as to whether the UE is to reuse a configuration from the first connectivity mode during the second connectivity mode.
Abstract:
Wireless communications systems and methods related to buffer/memory management for multi-connectivity in a wireless communication network are provided. A wireless communication device transmits a first portion of a plurality of data packets using a first radio access technology (RAT). The wireless communication device transmits a second portion of the plurality of data packets using a second RAT different from the first RAT. The wireless communication device stores at least some of the plurality of data packets in a memory pending an acknowledgement (ACK) indication associated with at least a first data packet of the plurality of data packets. The wireless communication device determines a transmission configuration for at least the first data packet and a second data packet based on whether a threshold occupancy of the memory is satisfied. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.
