Abstract: The present disclosure describes aspects of a capacitance-to-voltage modulation circuit. In some aspects, the circuit is used in touch sensing. In some aspects, a modulation circuit comprises a first pair of switches having one switch connected between a voltage source and a capacitor, and another switch connected between ground and the input of the circuit. The circuit also includes a second pair of switches having one switch connected between the voltage source and the input of the circuit, and another switch connected between ground and the capacitor. A third pair of the circuit's switches comprise one switch connected between the capacitor and an input of an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and another switch connected between the input of the circuit and the input of the ADC. The third pair of switches may enable charge sharing of signals modulated by the first and second pairs of switches, a result of which can be used to sense touch input based on capacitance at the input of the circuit.

Abstract: One aspect of the subject matter described may be implemented in a system for use in obtaining a deconvolved image of an object. In some implementations, the system may include an ultrasonic sensing system configured to perform an ultrasonic image scanning operation including one or more image scans of an object to obtain at least one measured image of the object. The system may include a processing unit configured to determine an initial estimate of a point spread function (PSF) associated with the ultrasonic image scanning operation based on the measured image. The processing unit may be configured to determine an initial estimate of a deconvolved image of the object based on the initial estimate of the PSF. The processing unit may be further configured to determine a refined estimate of the deconvolved image using an iterative deconvolution operation based on the initial estimates of the PSF and the deconvolved image.

In one embodiment, a method of activating a device based on detection of a fingerprint image may include monitoring a first metric level of a first set of regions of the fingerprint image, determining a second metric level of a second set of regions of the fingerprint image in response to the first metric level exceeding a first threshold, and activating the device based on the second metric level of the second set of regions of the fingerprint image.

Abstract: A robotic system including at least two acoustic sensors, spaced apart, for receiving respective versions of a respective continuous ultrasonic waveform emitted by each of one or more positional elements, each of the respective continuous ultrasonic waveforms comprising a respective modulated carrier and an electromagnetic sensor for receiving a respective electromagnetic signal emitted by a respective electromagnetic emitter of a same respective one of the positional elements, and a computing device. The respective electromagnetic signal is emitted in coordination with the respective ultrasonic waveform emitted by the same positional element. The computing device decodes the versions of the ultrasonic waveform and the electromagnetic signal to measure time delays between the versions of the respective ultrasonic waveform and the respective electromagnetic signal, converts the time delays to distances, and triangulates the distances to determine positions of the positional elements. A robot maneuvers based on the determined positions.
