Abstract:
A fuel injection apparatus for definite pilot and main injection in internal combustion engines. A hydraulic auxiliary pump is supplied via a pressure line with fuel from a high-pressure injection pump, which fuel reaches a main injection nozzle and simultaneously drives the hydraulic auxiliary pump. The hydraulic auxiliary pump contains a differential piston comprising a reservoir piston and a pilot injection piston with different diameters and with a spring prestressing such that between the end of supply of the pilot injection and the onset of supply of the main injection, an injection-free spacing stroke (DH) which can be predetermined by means of mechanical stops results, during which spacing stroke (DH) the reservoir piston by retracting further, receives the supply quantity which is pumped during the injection interval by the high-pressure injection pump.
Abstract:
An arrangement for measuring of the injection quantity, the injection beginning and the injection end of individual injections of an intermittently operating injection pump, has an injection chamber, an adjustable throttle connectable with the injection chamber at one location, a movable wall limiting the injection chamber at another location against the counterforce, a path sensor arranged to receive the position of the movable wall and supply a signal for adjustment of throttle.
Abstract:
An electric control device in the form of a final control element for fuel injection pumps for internal combustion engines is protected in the interior of its housing from having the parts it contains inundated by lubricant originating in the interior of the injection pump. This protection is effected in that a suction device driven by the camshaft is disposed in the interior and aspirates lubricant originating in the injection pump and returns it then. The suction device has a rotating part driven by the camshaft, and at its lowest point in the sump it has a sliding shoe which under spring pressure rests at the rear on the rotating part and is so embodied that lubricant adhering to the rotating part reaches a gap and from there is transported back into the injection pump via a drainage hose containing a check valve.
Abstract:
A rotational body supported in a housing of the apparatus carries an angle indication marker, which serves as a signal trigger of a signal transducer secured in a positionally fixed manner relative to the housing of the rotational body. The signal transducer has a transducer body axially displaceably disposed in its transducer housing. This body is displaceable in the direction of its longitudinal axis in order to actuate a first contact switch, and is provided inside its other end face with a switch contact, cooperating with the angle indication marker, of a second contact switch. After the actuation of both contact switches, the angle indication marker is located in a predetermined rotary position, which is indicated in the associated test circuit and serves in particular to ascertain the supply onset position of the drive shaft of a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines.
Abstract:
A method is proposed in which the injection pump, having been adjusted in terms of the supply quantity and of the supply onset, is provided on a test bench, before being mounted on the internal combustion engine, with an electric pulse transducer, whose mounted position is marked on the injection pump. The pump may also be corrected, at a fixed test rpm, to a set-point value fixed relative to the supply onset signal by means of measuring the signal distance between the supply onset signal of a signal transducer measuring the dynamic supply onset and the rotary-position signal of the pulse transducer. The injection pump, with the camshaft rotated into the rotary position associated with the dynamic supply onset, is mounted on the engine which has been brought with its crankshaft into the associated working position. For testing and if needed correcting the mounted position of the injection pump on the engine, only the signal distance between the rotary-position signal and a dead-center signal of a dead-center transducer secured on the engine is tested and corrected if needed to a fixed set-point value. This measurement can be performed with a conventionally available ignition angle testing device.
Abstract:
A supplementary air valve controlling a supplementary air quantity during the warm-up phase of an internal combustion engine. The supplementary valve is arranged in a lateral channel which bypasses the throttle valve and has a flat vane provided with a flow-through aperture; the vane is pivotable about a shaft eccentrically situated with respect to the flow-through aperture by means of a bimetallic spring provided with an electric heating coil energized through the engine ignition switch and which rotates the vane to uncover the cross-sectional areas of two spaced-apart, coaxially arranged air supply tubes which together form a part of the lateral channel and the vane has at least one further flow-through aperture for opening the cross-sectional area of a pressure control line which when closed, permits the induction tube pressure downstream of the throttle valve to prevail in the air control line, and when opened, the induction tube pressure upstream of the throttle valve prevails in the air control line.
Abstract:
A centrifugal rpm governor for fuel injected motor vehicles, in which the control stroke, which is detected by a lever controlled follower on an adapting surface, is enlarged for a more precise control of the adaptation. A translated shift lever is used as the control lever, which is coupled with the governor adjusting member and the lever carrying the follower. To improve the quality of the governor, the shift lever engages an adapting lever, which carries the follower and which is arranged nearly parallel to the intermediate lever. By means of an adjusting member, which is provided with an adapting control and retraction spring, and which is separated in the governor and adapting sleeve, the use of the governor as an idling as well as a maximum rpm governor is made possible.
