    摘要: A system and method for analyzing biological samples, such as dried human blood serum, to determine a disease state such as colorectal cancer (CRC). Using dried samples may hold potential for enhancing localized concentration and/or segmentation of sample components. The method may comprise illuminating at least one location of a biological sample to generate a plurality of interacted photons, collecting the interacted photons and generating at least one Raman data set representative of the biological sample. A system may comprise an illumination source to illuminate at least one location of a biological sample and generate at least one plurality of interacted photons, at least one mirror for directing the interacted photons to a detector. The detector may be configured to generate at least one Raman data set representative of the biological sample. The system and method may utilize a FAST device for multipoint analysis or may be configured to analyze a sample using a line scanning configuration.

    摘要: An overpressure indicating disk apparatus for indicating an over pressure condition in a pressurized system includes a body having first and second end portions and a bore, the first end portion configured for attachment to the pressurized system and in pressure communication therewith so that the pressure in the bore is the same pressure as the pressure of the pressurized system. A reverse buckling disk having an annular peripheral portion and a concave convex dome portion is provided. The annular peripheral portion surrounds the dome. The disk annular peripheral portion is mounted to the body, closing the bore at the first end portion. An indicating component or ring is affixed to the combination of a body and reverse buckling disk. The indicating ring has an annular peripheral portion that aligns generally with the annular peripheral portion of the reverse buckling rupture disk. A movable central tab portion is mounted inside the indicating component or ring. A hinge connects the central tab portion to the indicating ring. The concave side of the reverse buckling disk faces the central tab. The convex side of the reverse buckling disk faces the pressure inside the bore. When the pressure in the bore exceeds a preselected maximum pressure value, the disk reverses to engage and displace the central tab thereby indicating visually that an overpressure condition exists within the bore.

    摘要: The present invention provides an improved method of manufacturing a rupture disk and specifically of forming a score on a rupture disk. The method of the present invention includes the rotating of a rupture disk blank relative to an electrical discharge machining or “EDM” cutting wire and the simultaneous moving of the EDM cutting wire toward the axis of the disk while maintaining the wire in a selected position such as generally parallel to the disk peripheral skirt or flange. The rotation of the disk and the movement of the EDM wire can be precisely controlled with the motion system of a commercially available EDM machine. With the present invention, a precise score is cut a partial distance through the disk thickness and preferably on the convex side of the dome, near the transition from the dome to the flange and in a generally “c” shaped pattern. The formed score creates a pattern of weakness so that the disk will open in either of the forward or reverse buckling direction. Score patterns other than the “c” shaped pattern could be cut.

The middle layer has a weakened portion (scoring, openings, for example) that defines the panel burst pressure. A part of the lower layer does not connect to the middle layer. That part that does not connect to the middle layer adheres to the hold down layer. The hold down layer can be in the form of a ring with an open center, the weakened portion of the middle layer occupying a position within the open center of the hold down layer.
