    摘要: A method of making a gas generant formulation which contains a transition metal diammine dinitrate is provided wherein a transition metal nitrate is reacted with an ammonia source to form an aqueous slurry containing a corresponding reaction mixture. A spray dryable precursor to the gas generant formulation is formed including at least a gas generating fuel and a sufficient quantity of water to render the precursor spray dryable. The precursor is subsequently spray dried to form a gas generant powder. The method may also include a relatively mild heat treatment of the dried material, either as a part of the spray drying or subsequent to such spray drying.

    摘要: A stringed instrument such as a hollow body guitar has a neck portion that extends under the tail of the fretboard. The body of the instrument has a pair of recesses which mate with respective tail and heel surfaces on the neck portion. Spacers are placed in the recesses in order to adjust the spacing and angle of the neck portion relative to the instrument's body. If the neck and body are connected to each other by bolts, then any misalignment between the neck and body can be cured by removing the bolts, replacing the spacers with spacers of a different thickness and/or wedge shape, and replacing the bolts. Additional structural components can be added to the neck and inside the body of the instrument in order to further enhance its structural integrity.

    摘要: Methods and materials for modifying rocket motors to render them safer are disclosed. The invention is primarily related to placing within the bore of a rocket motor a sufficient quantity of a material mitigant such that if the rocket motor receives an unintended impact, the material mitigates the effects of the impact, and prevents ignition or explosion of the propellant. The material mitigant may take a number of forms; however, polymer foams and fibers of various types have been found to work well. It is presently preferred that the material mitigants have a density of not less than approximately 0.04 grams/cc. Examples of such materials include polyurethane foam, polystyrene, and Kevlar.RTM. fibers. It is also preferred that the material mitigant not be reactive with the propellant in the rocket motor. While the material mitigant is configured such that it absorbs fragments or energy of propellant dislodged by the impact, at the same time it does not interfere with the normal ignition and operation of the rocket motor.

One held stationary contact spring spider has plural radially disposed axially-movable cam follower switch contact arms engaging the axial cam, and also has plural detent springs engaging the axial detent teeth. A base has stationary contacts to be selectively engaged by the switch contacts, and a journal post upon which the rotor is rotatable. An externally accessible shaft upon the rotor has a surrounding resilient "O" ring. A housing sealed to the base and bearing upon the "O" ring seals the switch. The switch may be fabricated in DIP size and contact configuration.

    摘要: Ammonium perchlorate-containing gas generant compositions which, upon combustion, produce or result in an improved effluent and related methods for generating an inflation gas for use in an inflatable restraint system are provided. Such ammonium perchlorate-containing gas generant compositions include ammonium perchlorate present with a mean particle size in excess of 100 microns. Such ammonium perchlorate-containing gas generant compositions also include or contain a chlorine scavenger present in an amount effective to result in a gaseous effluent that is substantially free of hydrogen chloride when the gas generant is combusted, wherein at least about 98 weight percent of the chlorine scavenger is a copper-containing compound. Suitable copper-containing chlorine scavenger compounds include basic copper nitrate, cupric oxide, copper diammine dinitrate-ammonium nitrate mixture wherein ammonium nitrate is present in the mixture in a range of about 3 to about 90 weight percent, copper diammine bitetrazole, a copper-nitrate complex resulting from reaction of 5-aminotetrazole with basic copper nitrate and combinations thereof.
