    摘要: A rotating suction chamber apparatus for sorting a mixture of materials comprises a cylindrical drum with its upper end is at a higher elevation than its lower end. An upper housing connected to the upper end has a material intake for receiving the mixture of materials for introduction to the upper end. The mixture of materials includes a light fraction and a heavy fraction, and the upper housing has an outlet for the light fraction. A suction hood connected to the light fraction outlet includes a light separator shaft with a substantially vertical portion, and an air blower is adapted to create an airflow from the lower end, to the upper end, through the light fraction outlet and through the suction hood. A rotator rotates the drum about its longitudinal axis so that the heavy fraction is moved through the drum and falls out of the lower end.

    摘要: By flowing an amount of hydrogen gas (25-75% of total flow), the stress of thin carbon films (100 nm-10 μm) can be reduced. The films are deposited by chemical vapor deposition (800° C.-1100° C.) using an ethylene source gas (remainder of total flow). Carbon nanotube structures infiltrated with carbon by this method will not delaminate from the growth substrate, allowing for a range of post-processing methods. One process that can be performed is to etch the carbon “floor layer”, coat the structures in a Formvar film, and then release the structures using a chemical etch. Thin films (5-100 nm) can then be deposited on the substrate-defined Formvar surface. The Formvar can be removed by a thermal annealing step (400-600° C.), or a chemical etch step, either of which will leave suspended thin films over the open portions of the structures.

    摘要: Personal multimedia devices can detect when an incoming video format is different from a native format and make a local decision to convert incoming video formats to a format native to the personal multimedia device. The personal multimedia device may include a media processor that comprises an MPEG decoder/encoder, graphics processors, and a video decoder/encoder. These components increase a frame rate of a received video signal when the frame rate of the received video signal is less than a frame rate of the native video format of the personal multimedia device and decrease the frame rate of the received video signal when the frame rate of the received video signal is greater than the native frame rate of the set-top box. The graphics processor scales a frame resolution of the frames in the received video signal to correspond to the native video format.
