摘要： This invention relates to a fastener driving device including a variable ratio gear mechanism that enables the ratio of the rotation of the handle to the rotation of a driving bit extending from the handle to be varied to allow the bit to rotate at different speeds from the handle. The device includes a gear mechanism disposed within a housing for the device that includes a locking member. The locking member can be engaged with the gear mechanism to lock the gear mechanism in a configuration for a 1:1 gear ratio. The locking member can be moved with regard to the gear mechanism to provide an increased gear ratio for the gear mechanism when desired.

The segments of the anvil roll are arranged side by side along an arbor. The arbor carries inflatable bladder ribs along the length of the arbor to provide uniform contact pressure to the strip during scribing at the opposite side of the strip by the scribing roll.

摘要： An electronic paintbrush and electronic palette which allow a user to generate images on a CRT screen in a manner which imitates traditional painting with paints on a canvas. The electronic brush has fiber optic bristles which channel light from a CRT screen to optical detectors. A microprocessor in the brush utilizes pulses generated by the incidence of the raster scan on photodiodes to determine the position of the brush, the pressure of the brush against the CRT screen, and its angular orientation about the longitudinal axis of the brush. The microprocessor utilizes color information generated by a CCD array to determine the area of contact of the brush with color swatches on the palette, and the angle between the longitudinal axis of the brush and the normal vector to the CRT screen. In an alternate embodiment the palette is also displayed on the CRT screen.

摘要： A coupling and methods for interconnecting the ends of spirally ribbed pipe are disclosed. Grooves are formed transversely across two or more ribs of the pipe and a coupling ring is secured to the end of the pipe by lugs or cleats which rotatably engage with the grooves. Contact surfaces of the lugs are angled relative to the grooves to center the coupling ring axially of the pipe. The angular relationship of the grooves and contact surfaces of the lugs draw the ring into abutting contact with the end of the pipe as they rotatably engage the grooves.

摘要： A bellows pipe construction and method for manufacturing are disclosed wherein helically wound coils of logitudinally corrugated strip are joined with an interlocking seam. Thereafter, the interlocking seam is deformed to position the edges of the strip in substantial parallelism with the axis of the pipe. The resulting pipe can be extended or shortened for installation and will further adjust and accommodate ground movement without substantial loss of strength.

With electrodes producing deposits containing titanium carbide, the addition also improves the weld metal fluidity to a significant degree. Preferably, small quantities of unalloyed aluminum and magnesium are also added to the core for their beneficial effect in minimizing or eliminating weld metal porosity.
