Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to nonporous polymer particles having an average particle size of 1 to 10 micrometers and being functionalized with streptavidin. The streptavidin functionalized particles of the present disclosure can be bound to biotinylated antibodies, biotinylated antigen-binding fragments thereof, or biotinylated oligonucleotides to create customizable affinity chromatography columns. That is, the functionalized nonporous polymer particles can be packed in a stainless steel, titanium, or other metal or metal alloy column for affinity high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC).

The invention addresses the problem of corrosion or interference of metal components in the flow path for LC analyses in which the sample interacts with metal ions or surfaces. The invention also alleviates the difficulties in coating very long metal tubes and very small metal channels with an inert, continuous coating that adheres well to metal surfaces. The metal flow path is rendered inert by the coating, and thus compatible with bioanalytical separations, for example, by using a vapor phase deposition process to coat the inner surfaces with a coating that continuously covers all metal surfaces in the flow path.

Abstract: The chromatographic column is a stainless steel column having a stationary phase of porous monolithic polymer chemically bonded to the interior wall of the stainless steel column so that the stationary phase is fixed and immobile and does not require frits or other seals to retain particulate matter or a slurry in the column. The inner wall of the column is oxidized and then vinylized with a difunctional linker to chemically bond the polymer to the column. The difunctional linker may be 3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyl methacrylate, vinyl trimethoxysilane, 3-mercaptopropyl trimethoxysilane, or glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane. The monolithic polymer is prepared in situ in the column by radical polymerization of a monovinyl monomer with a crosslinking divinyl monomer. The column may be a conventional stainless steel column (¼″ inner diameter), capillary micro-LC ( 1/16″), or nan-LC (( 1/32″).

Abstract: A chromatography system has a cartridge adapter that is detachably attachable to enable a chromatography cartridge to be quickly interchanged. Chromatography cartridges are configured with threads for coupling to a corresponding interchangeable coupling component having matching threads. The interchangeable coupling component may be secured to the chromatography system by a coupling retainer. A coupling retainer may have a keyway that is configured for quick interchanging of the interchangeable coupling components. The interchangeable coupling component may have a pair of parallel sides that align with a slot of the keyway to secure the interchangeable coupling components to the coupling retainer. An inlet nipple of the chromatography cartridge may extend through an opening in the coupling components and couple to an inlet conduit for sample gas. Analyte gas may flow back to the chromatography system for detection and collection.

Abstract: A fluid chromatography device, comprising a first segment of a column configured to connect with an inlet that is configured to receive a fluid sample.
