    摘要: A multicast radio data communication system comprising a master and a plurality of slave stations uses a retransmission protocol. Data is transmitted by the master station and received by the slave stations. Slave stations having the weakest radio link are designated primary stations, and all other slaves are designated secondary stations. Any slave station may transmit a negative acknowledgement but only the primary stations may transmit a positive acknowledgement. Positive acknowledgements are transmitted in separate time slots, but negative acknowledgements transmitted by the secondary stations overlap the positive acknowledgements transmitted by primary stations. These negative acknowledgements corrupt reception of the positive acknowledgement by the master station, thereby ensuring that the data is retransmitted.

    摘要: An electro-optic modulator structure for particular use in narrowband optical subcarrier systems. A traveling wave is established across the active region of the device, instead of a standing wave. This is accomplished through the use of a directional resonator structure that prevents reverse-traveling waves from being established within the resonator. Hence, the electric field is applied to the traveling optical wave in a similar fashion to a traveling-wave modulator, except that the traveling wave has a much greater amplitude due to the build-up of energy inside the resonator. Since the modulator is operated in a traveling-wave fashion, it can be tuned to operate at any frequency using tuning elements, regardless of the length of the active region. Furthermore, the microwave and optical signals can be velocity-matched to mitigate optical transit time effects that are normally associated with a resonant modulator utilizing a standing-wave electrode structure.

    摘要: This invention provides novel pyrazole compounds that are useful as protein kinase inhibitors, especially as inhibitors of aurora-2 and GSK-3. The compounds may be used to treat abnormal physiological function leading to diseases such as cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer's disease. The compounds are represented by formula VI: wherein G is Ring C or Ring D; Ring C is selected from a phenyl, pyridinyl, pyrimidinyl, pyridazinyl, pyrazinyl, or 1,2,4-triazinyl ring, wherein said Ring C has one or two ortho substituents independently selected from —R1; Ring D is a 5-7 membered monocyclic ring or 8-10 membered bicyclic ring selected from aryl, heteroaryl, heterocyclyl or carbocyclyl; Ry is T—R3′; T is a valence bond or a C1-4 alkylidene chain; R3′ is an optionally substituted group selected from C1-6 aliphatic, C3-10 carbocyclyl, C6-10 aryl, a heteroaryl ring having 5-10 ring atoms, or a heterocyclyl ring having 5-10 ring atoms; and R1, R2, and R2′ are as described in the specification.

    摘要: Bandwidth reduction methods and apparatus that offset the effects of dispersion on a signal transmitted through an optical fiber. The apparatus and methods employ a generator of modulated optical signals in cascade with a modulator. One of the generator and the modulator may be an optical intensity or amplitude modulator and the other a phase (or frequency) modulator. With the application of specific signals, the cascaded generator and modulator produce an optical signal with reduced energy in one half of the transmission bandwidth. One important benefit in the method is the fact that by exploiting the less obvious spectral characteristics of single sideband signals, a simple modulator design is achieved. All of the designs exploit a method of generating analytic signals via hybrid modulation.
