A method for selecting a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) in a wireless communication system by a User Equipment (UE), the method includes detecting, by the UE, that the UE is operating in an interworking mode, triggering, by the UE, a manual scan in the interworking mode for acquiring a list of PLMNs in the wireless communication system, and causing, by the UE, a display to output the list of PLMNs in response to the triggering.
Abstract:
Embodiments disclosed herein relate to methods for handling a resource in a wireless network by a UE 100. The method includes receiving a reject cause message from a network entity. The UE does not support a redirected radio access technology (RAT) indicated in the reject cause message. Further, the method includes considering the reject cause message to represent an abnormal case and performing at least one action based on the abnormal case. The method can be used for enabling enhanced NAS procedure in CIoT devices. The method can also be used to indicate the change in support of CP/UP preference when both CP and UP CIoT optimization are supported, so as to reduce the signalling overhead in the wireless network, improve the UE behavior and NAS procedural efficiencies.

Embodiments herein disclose a method for service prioritization in an electronic device comprising a plurality of SIMs associated with a single RF resource within the electronic device. The method includes sending, by an RF controller of the electronic device, a response to a second SIM to access the service associated with a second network entity. Further, the method includes configuring, by the RF controller, a signalling message comprising a category of service. The category of service indicates a priority of the service to be accessed by the second SIM. Further, the method includes sending the signalling message comprising the category of service to the second network entity.

Methods and apparatuses are provided for controlling a voice call at a user equipment (UE) in a wireless network. A method includes transmitting, to a network entity, a tracking area update (TAU) service request for a subsystem (IMS) initiation; receiving, from the network entity, a TAU service reject message; and in response to the TAU service reject message, stopping a circuit switch (CS) fall back call in at least one legacy radio technology (RAT).

A method for handling an ATTACH reject message with packet radio service mobility management reject cause number (#14 cause) at a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes receiving, at the UE, an ATTACH accept message for a network service on a public land mobile network (PLMN) from a first network entity, wherein the PLMN is in a “forbidden PLMNs for general packet radio service (GPRS) service” list, detecting, by the UE, that the UE's evolved universal terrestrial radio access (E-UTRA) capability is disabled, and enabling, by the UE, the UE's E-UTRA capability and removing the PLMN from the “forbidden PLMNs for GPRS service” list.
Abstract:
A method and user equipment for handling a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) selection in a mobile communication network is provided. The method includes obtaining, by a User Equipment (UE), a PLMN list of one or more Radio Access Technologies (RATs) comprising a list of available PLMNs, when the UE performs a Manual Closed Subscriber Group (CSG) selection, initiating a PLMN list validation timer, and reusing the previously obtained PLMN list, when at least one predefined event is triggered and the PLMN list validation timer is running. The at least one predefined event comprises at least one of Home Public Land Mobile Network (HPLMN) timer expiration, a manual PLMN selection, the manual CSG selection, and autonomous CSG selection.

A method and apparatus of an AMF controller in a wireless communication system are provided. The method and apparatus include: registering a first SIM based on a first registration request message and registering a second SIM based on a second registration request message which has a GUTI for the first SIM. Further, the method and apparatus include: receiving at least one of downlink data and signaling information for the second SIM when a N1 NAS is in CM-Connected state for the first SIM, and transmitting a NAS message indicating at least one of the downlink data and the signaling information for the second SIM over the N1 NAS connection of the first SIM.

A method for optimizing selection of a Standalone Non-Public Network (SNPN) by a User Equipment (UE), includes: receiving, from a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) or a SNPN, SNPN selection parameters associated with a PLMN subscription list corresponding to one or more Universal Subscriber Identity Modules (USIMs), wherein the SNPN selection parameters comprises a list of SNPNs, and a plurality of configuration parameters supported by the PLMN for the one or more USIMs; and selecting at least one SNPN from the list of SNPNs based on the PLMN subscription list and storing SNPN selection parameters along with a USIM being associated with the SNPN selection parameters.

A method for handling collision of signaling messages between a user equipment (UE) and a network entity is disclosed. The method includes transmitting a first signaling message comprising a first access type and a second signaling message comprising a second access type different from the first access type. The UE is registered on a network for the first access type and the second access type. The method also includes determining that the first access type and the second access type correspond to different access types. The method further includes processing the first signaling message and the second signaling message based on the determination by processing of the first signaling message and the second signaling message in parallel or re-triggering one or more of the first signaling message or the second signaling message.
