    摘要: A provided apparatus is caused to direct establishment of a connection of the apparatus with a core network via a wide area radio access network (RAN), where the core network is coupled to an external network. The apparatus is also caused to select or receive selection of a local area network that is coupled to the same or different external network via one or more local gateways (L-GWs). The apparatus is caused to request selection of a L-GW of the one or more L-GWs from the core network via the wide area RAN, and in response, receive an identity of a selected L-GW. Further, the apparatus is caused to direct contact with the selected L-GW based on the identity, and establishment of a connection of the apparatus with the selected L-GW. The apparatus may thereby be connected to the external network via the local area network and selected L-GW.

    摘要: Described is a method of providing an AAL2 end-to-end connection in an ATM transmission network using a first and a second AAL2 endpoint and at least an AAL2 switch, wherein a plurality of AAL2 paths is at least present between the first AAL2 endpoint and the at least one AAL2 switch or between the at least one AAL2 switch and the second AAL2 endpoint. The method comprises the step of establishing an end-to-end connection on a concatenation of a first path between the first AAL2 endpoint and the at least one AAL2 switch with a second path between the at least one AAL2 switch and the second AAL2 endpoint. The use of the first and second path is assigned for traffic of the first AAL2 endpoint which acts as an originating node. The selection of the first and second path is performed by using a mapping scheme which is valid at least between the first AAL2 endpoint and the at least one AAL2 switch and between the at least one AAL2 switch and the second AAL2 endpoint. The mapping scheme is configured so as to ensure that the first AAL2 endpoint can control the selection of certain paths both between the first AAL2 endpoint and the at least one AAL2 switch and between the at least one AAL2 switch and the second AAL2 endpoint.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method, a system and a network node for providing security in a radio access network, wherein an information conveyed in a signalling message of an application protocol of said radio access network is used to derive or create a security association to be used between communicating network nodes of said radio access network. The conveyed information may be an IP address or a UDP datagram used for deriving the security association from a respective database. Alternatively, the conveyed information may be a security parameter index or a security association information conveyed in a new information element of the signalling message. This information is then used for creating a new Security Association between the communicating network nodes. Thereby, a separate connection or protocol is not required for the security procedures. Moreover, the whole network control system does not have to be involved in the transfer, because the endpoints of encryption are in corresponding network elements of the radio access network.

    摘要: Methods and systems for setting-up channels in third generation (3G) communication systems that utilize wideband, code division multiple access signaling protocols including the reserving of a branch of the channelisation code tree to set-up the channels. By reserving a branch of the tree, the channels can be automatically coded using the pre-reserved codes in the branch which eliminates the need for separate verification procedure to be performed to determine whether there are enough transport layer resources available to accommodate the new channel and whether the new channel will disturb or otherwise interfere with current channel data transport. Since the new channels are set-up using reserved codes, the transport layer resources already exist to accommodate the new channels and there can be no chance of existing channel interference.
