    Abstract: A method and apparatus of a first network entity in a wireless communication system supporting ranging capability is provided. The method comprises: identifying, in a ranging block, one or more ranging rounds to transmit a ranging control message (RCM) and ranging ancillary data; generating the RCM including an advanced ranging control information element (ARC IE) that includes a ranging method field, wherein the ranging method field includes a value that indicates whether a ranging round following the RCM is used for ranging ancillary information exchange; transmitting, to a second network entity, the ranging ancillary data in the ranging round following the RCM when the value included in the ranging method field corresponds to ranging ancillary information exchange; and receiving, from the second network entity, an acknowledgement (ACK) corresponding to the ranging ancillary data.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus of a network entity in a wireless communication system supporting ranging capability. The method includes generating a medium access control (MAC) common part sublayer-data request primitive including a ranging enable indicator and a ranging request measurement and control IE (RRMC IE) with a reply-time request. The RRMC IE includes request fields for a reply time, a round-trip measurement, a time-of-flight, an angle of arrival (AOA) azimuth, an AoA elevation, a ranging control information, a reserved bit, an RRMC table length, and an RRMC table. The method further includes transmitting MAC Data including the RRMC IE to another network entity and receiving MAC Data including a ranging reply time instantaneous IE from the other network entity. A local value of a receive ranging counter is identified at the network entity.

    Abstract: A network entity and a method of the network entity in a wireless communication system supporting ranging capability are provided.     Abstract: A method of a transmit apparatus in a wireless communication system supporting ranging capability is provided.     Abstract: A method of a transmit apparatus in a wireless communication system supporting ranging capability is provided. The method comprises: for a single-sided two-way ranging (SS-TWR), identifying a ranging round (RR) including a ranging initiation phase (RIP) for a set of transmit apparatuses including the transmit apparatus and a ranging response phase (RRP) for a set of receive apparatuses, wherein the RIP and the RRP comprise at least one slot; transmitting, to the set of receive apparatuses, a ranging initiation message in the RIP; and receiving, from one or more of the set of receive apparatuses, a ranging response message including information requested by the transmit apparatus in the RRP.
