    Abstract: A display apparatus having an image capturing function is provided. A display apparatus or an image capturing device with a high aperture ratio is provided. The display apparatus includes a first light-emitting element and a light-receiving element. The first light-emitting element includes a first pixel electrode, a first organic layer, and a common electrode. The light-receiving element includes a second pixel electrode, a second organic layer, and the common electrode. The first organic layer includes a first light-emitting layer, and the second organic layer includes a photoelectric conversion layer. A first layer and a second layer are included in a region between the first light-emitting element and the light-receiving element. The first layer overlaps with the second organic layer and the second pixel electrode and contains a material identical to a material of the first organic layer. The second layer overlaps with the first organic layer and the first pixel electrode and contains a material identical to a material of the second organic layer. In the region between the first light-emitting element and the light-receiving element, an end portion of the first organic layer and an end portion of the first layer face each other and an end portion of the second organic layer and an end portion of the second layer face each other.

    Abstract: An increase in fabricating cost of a display module including a touch sensor is suppressed. A display device which includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and liquid crystal interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate includes a display portion. The display portion includes a sensor unit and a pixel. The sensor unit includes a first transistor, a first conductive film electrically connected to a gate of the first transistor, and a second conductive film. At least part of the first conductive film overlaps with at least part of the second conductive film. The pixel includes a second transistor, and a pixel electrode electrically connected to the second transistor. At least part of the pixel electrode overlaps with at least part of the first conductive film.

The common electrode includes a portion overlapping with the first pixel electrode and a portion overlapping with the second pixel electrode.     Abstract: A method for operating an electronic device, which is easy on eyes, is provided. The electronic device includes a display device including a light-emitting device and a light-receiving device, and a lens. The method includes a step of displaying an image for focus adjustment of a user's eye; a step of detecting a spot diameter of first light reflected by the user's eye; a step of moving the lens and detecting a spot diameter of second light reflected by the user's eye; a step of determining whether the spot diameter of the second light is smaller than the spot diameter of the first light; a step of further moving the lens and detecting a spot diameter of the third light reflected by the user's eye in the case where the spot diameter of the second light is smaller than the spot diameter of the first light; a step of determining whether the spot diameter of the third light is smaller than the spot diameter of the second light; and a step of moving the lens to a position at which the spot diameter of the first light has been detected, in the case where the spot diameter of the second light is larger than the spot diameter of the first light.

    Abstract: The resolution of a display apparatus having alight detection function is increased. The display apparatus includes a light-emitting device and a light-emitting and light-receiving device. The light-emitting device includes a first pixel electrode, a first light-emitting layer, and a common electrode; the light-emitting and light-receiving device includes a second pixel electrode, a second light-emitting layer, an active layer, and the common electrode; the active layer includes an organic compound; the first light-emitting layer is positioned between the first pixel electrode and the common electrode; the second light-emitting layer and the active layer are each positioned between the second pixel electrode and the common electrode; the light-emitting device has a function of emitting light of a first color; and the light-emitting and light-receiving device has a function of emitting light of a second color and a function of receiving light of the first color. The light-emitting and light-receiving device functions as both a light-emitting device and a light-receiving device, whereby a pixel can have a light-receiving function without an increase in the number of subpixels included in the pixel. Furthermore, the pixel can be provided with a light-receiving function without a reduction in the resolution of the display apparatus or a reduction in the aperture ratio of each subpixel.

    Abstract: A novel functional panel that is highly convenient, useful, or reliable is provided. The functional panel includes a base material and a pair of pixels, and the base material covers the pair of pixels and has a light-transmitting property. The pair of pixels includes one pixel and another pixel, and the one pixel includes a light-emitting device and a first microlens. The light-emitting device emits light toward the base material, and the first microlens is interposed between the base material and the light emission and converges light. The first microlens includes a first surface and a second surface; the second surface is closer to the light-emitting device than the first surface is; and the second surface has a smaller radius of curvature than the first surface. The other pixel includes a photoelectric conversion device and a second microlens. The second microlens is interposed between the base material and the photoelectric conversion and converges external light incident from the base material side. The second microlens includes a third surface and a fourth surface; the third surface is closer to the photoelectric conversion device than the fourth surface is; and the fourth surface has a smaller radius of curvature than the third surface.
