摘要: L-glutamic acid is produced by culturing a microorganism in a liquid medium containing L-glutamic acid at a saturation concentration, wherein the microorganism can metabolize a carbon source at a specific pH, and also has an ability to accumulate L-glutamic acid in the medium in an amount which exceeds the saturation concentration of L-glutamic acid, wherein the pH of the medium is controlled so that L-glutamic acid precipitates.

摘要: An internal combustion engine capable of efficiently supplying air to an exhaust path even in a high load state. The internal combustion engine includes a convergent section, a divergent section, and a branch section. The branch section branches a shock wave, propagating in a downstream direction at a higher velocity than exhaust gas flowing into an exhaust path from a combustion chamber when an exhaust valve is opened, from a portion of the exhaust path which is upstream with respect to the divergent section, and propagates the shock wave back to the exhaust path. The exhaust gas is caused to pass the convergent section and to collide against the shock wave between the branch section and the divergent section so as to increase the pressure of the exhaust gas in the convergent section. Such exhaust gas is caused to pass the divergent section to generate a new shock wave. A secondary air supply system includes a supply section arranged to supply air to a portion of the exhaust path which is upstream with respect to the divergent section, using a negative pressure generated by the newly generated shock wave.

摘要: An internal combustion engine capable of improving cleaning efficiency by preventing an increase in the temperature of the exhaust gas to lessen the deterioration of the catalyst. The exhaust gas is caused to pass the convergent section and to collide against the shock wave between the branch section and the divergent section, so as to increase the pressure of the exhaust gas in the convergent section. Such exhaust gas is caused to pass the divergent section to generate a new shock wave and to decrease the temperature of the exhaust gas. A catalyst of an exhaust cleaning device is provided in a portion of the exhaust path which is downstream with respect to the divergent section.

摘要: A mobile phone has: a close-range communication control section that performs close-range wireless communication with other mobile phones; a forwarding destination storage section that stores a forwarding destination list in which phone numbers of telephones capable of accepting forwarding are recorded; and a close-range wireless communication monitoring section that causes the close-range wireless communication section to perform close-range wireless communication and monitors establishment of close-range wireless communication with a forwarding acceptance telephone having a phone number that matches any of the phone numbers in the forwarding destination list. The mobile phone also has an incoming call forwarding destination notification section that notifies the phone number of a forwarding acceptance telephone, with which close-range wireless communication by the close-range wireless communication section has been established, to the call forwarding service center as a forwarding destination phone number.

摘要: Disclosed is an optical information recording medium having a printable region on a label surface which is extended to a clamping area, and label information such as a name of a manufacturer is printed in the clamping area. The optical information recording medium includes a substrate having label information pits serving as non-recording and non-reproducing pits that are formed in the clamping area and a reflective layer laminated on the label information pits, and a dummy substrate to be attached to the substrate through an adhesive layer formed on the reflective layer. The multiple label information pits are formed substantially in an entire region of the clamping area to display the label information which emerges by linking portions where the label information pits are not formed.

摘要: Visual feature information which is information representing a numerical value of a visual feature of an object and additional information which is information added to the object are stored in association with each other. Partial image data which is image data of a partial area of a video image is extracted. Visual feature information of the extracted partial image data is generated. The visual feature information of the extracted partial image data and visual feature information of an object which is stored are compared with each other to calculate a similarity therebetween. Based on the calculated similarity, an object contained in the video image data is identified. An annotation made up of additional information of the identified object is displayed in superposing relation to the video image on a display device.

摘要: A person region information extraction unit (101) detects a person region where a person appearing in a video belongs, and generates person region information describing information of the person region. An accompanying person determination unit (102) identifies at least one accompanying person accompanying a tracking target person among persons included in the person region information based on the person region information and information specifying a tracking target person, and generates accompanying person information describing the accompanying person. A distinctive person selection unit (103) selects a distinctive person having a salient feature using the person region information among the accompanying person specified by the accompanying person information, and generates distinctive person information describing the distinctive person. A person tracking unit (104) calculates a tracking result for the distinctive person based on the person region information and the distinctive person information.
