摘要： A liquid crystal display includes; a first substrate, a gate line disposed on the first substrate, a first data line disposed substantially perpendicularly to the gate line on the first substrate, and which insulates and the gate line, a first thin film transistor connected to the gate line and the first data line, a first pixel electrode connected to the first thin film transistor, a liquid crystal capacitor including the first pixel electrode and a second pixel electrode as two terminals thereof, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode, and a short transistor having a control terminal connected to a previous gate line, and which is controlled to short the first pixel electrode to a voltage approaching a voltage of the second pixel electrode.

The third thin film transistor includes a gate electrode, a source electrode overlapping the gate electrode and connected to the second sub-pixel electrode, and a drain electrode connected to the assistance capacitor, and a parasitic capacitance between the gate electrode and the drain electrode is equal to or less than a parasitic capacitance between the gate electrode and the source electrode.

摘要： A device and method for improving the uniformity of color and luminance of images displayed in a transmissive region and a reflective region of a liquid crystal display are presented. The phase difference value of light for displaying images in the reflective and transmissive regions is the same with respect to one pixel.The phase difference value of the liquid crystal layer in the reflective region is half of the phase difference value of the liquid crystal layer in the transmissive region, in the range of from 25% to 75%, when considering the exemplary embodiments and path differences of the light. Also, a λ/4 plate having a slow axis forming a predetermined angle with the transmissive axis of the polarizer is formed inside the upper substrate and the lower substrate to display the same images in the reflective region and the transmissive region.

The liquid crystal layer includes liquid crystal molecules oriented substantially perpendicular to the first display plate and the second display plate in a state where no voltage is applied to the first to third electrodes. When a display state is to change from a first grayscale in a first grayscale region to a second grayscale in a second grayscale region, a return voltage, which is larger than the sum of the common voltage and a threshold voltage of the liquid crystal molecules, is applied to the first electrode and the second electrode for at least a specified period before the first drive voltage and the second drive voltage, which correspond to the second grayscale, are applied to the first electrode and the second electrode.

摘要： A liquid crystal display includes: a first substrate and a second substrate disposed opposite the first substrate; a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first and second substrates and including liquid crystal molecules; a gate line which transmits a gate signal; first and second data lines which respectively transmit first and second data voltages, the first and second data voltages having opposite polarities; a first switching element connected to the gate line and the first data line; a second switching element connected to the gate line and the second data line; a first subpixel electrode connected to the first switching element; and a second subpixel electrode connected to the second switching element. The first and second subpixel electrodes overlap portions of the first and second data lines. The first and second subpixel electrodes include first and second branches, respectively, which are alternately arranged between the first and second data lines.
