The reset switching device may transmit a storage voltage to the display capacitor in response to an activating reset signal that is applied to the first reset switching device for an activating reset signal duration. The storage voltage is configured for resetting a pixel associated with the first display capacitor. The activating reset signal duration is longer than the activating gate signal duration.

摘要： A liquid crystal display according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: first and second substrates opposed to each other; a liquid crystal layer including liquid crystal molecules interposed between the first and second substrates; a gate line formed on the first substrate and transmitting a gate signal; first and second data lines formed on the first substrate and transmitting first and second data voltages having different polarities; a first switching element connected to the gate line and the first data line; a second switching element connected to the gate line and the second data line; and first and second pixel electrodes that are connected to the first and second switching elements, respectively, and separated from each other, wherein the liquid crystal layer has positive dielectric anisotropy.

The first subpixel includes a first switching element connected to the first gate line, a first liquid crystal capacitor connected to the first switching element, and a first storage capacitor having a first terminal and a second terminal. The second subpixel includes a second switching element connected to the first gate line and the first data line, a second liquid crystal capacitor connected to the second switching element, and a second storage capacitor having a first terminal and a second terminal and having a capacitance different from a capacitance of the first storage capacitor. The first terminal of the first storage capacitor is connected to the first switching element, the first terminal of the second storage capacitor is connected to the second switching element, and the second terminal of the first storage capacitor and the second terminal of the second storage capacitor are coupled to each other and have a varying voltage thereof.

The first pixel and the second pixel are defined by a first gate bus line, a second gate bus line, a first power supply line and a second power supply line. A data bus line between the first supply line and the second supply line divides the first pixel from the second pixel line. Accordingly, the pixel shares a data bus line or a power supply line with adjacent pixel. Advantageously, thereby, more space between lines prevents defects caused during fabricating the display device and improve a reliability of the display device.
