摘要： An additional image is formed on a recording medium by filling a predetermined area including a punched portion or a stapled portion, in addition to an image which is to be formed originally, such as a text document. The additional image is formed with white developer or transparent developer. Since the thickness of the recording medium is increased by the white developer or transparent developer forming the additional image portion, the region around the punched portion or the stapled portion is reinforced and the recording medium is kept from being broken easily. When the image and the additional image are superposed, the superposition of the image and the additional image is avoided by either reducing the image or changing the position of the image to be formed.

The delay units of respective stages of the first delay line circuit inverting input signals. Each stage delay unit of the second delay line circuit includes a logic circuit receiving an output signal of the transfer circuit associated with the delay unit in question and an output signal of a preceding stage to send an output signal to a following stage. The duty ratio is rendered variable by independently selecting the rising edge of the input signal and a propagation path of the falling edge.

摘要： A sheet feeding device includes a sheet stacker and a locking mechanism. The sheet stacker has a stacking plate adapted for sheets to be stacked thereon. The sheet stacker is movable between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the sheet stacker is entirely housed in a casing, and, in the second position, is entirely exposed outside of the casing. The locking mechanism is adapted to lock the sheet stacker to the casing at each of the first and second positions. This arrangement prevents the sheet stacker as pulled out of the casing for sheet replenishment from being moved.

摘要： In an image forming apparatus of the present invention, an idle roller once stops rotating when a front edge of a sheet conveyed reaches the idle roller. The idle roller restarts rotating at such a timing that a front edge of a toner image on a photoreceptor and a front edge of an image writing position on the sheet are aligned with each other. Then, even if a rear edge of the sheet is still in the idle roller, the idle roller stops rotating when the front edge of the sheet is sandwiched between a transfer roller and the photoreceptor. By carrying out such operations, it is possible to avoid by a very simple way an occurrence of a slip phenomenon that is a phenomenon of slipping of the sheet with respect to the photoreceptor while suppressing a reduction in image quality as much as possible. In addition, it is also possible to surely secure a blank space formed at a rear edge portion of the sheet.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a feeding portion, an image forming portion, a discharge portion, a paper transport path, a plurality of detection members, and a control portion. The image forming portion forms images on sheets of paper fed from the feeding portion. The path transports paper from the feeding portion to the discharge portion via the image forming portion. The detection members detect transport state of paper at respective locations on the path including the feeding portion, between the feeding and image forming portions, within the image forming portion, between the image forming and discharge portions, and the discharge portion. Upon detection of paper jam at any of the locations, the control portion displays, on an indicator, information identifying a location where the jam has occurred, and the image forming portion where paper is detected by the detection members, as locations of paper to be eliminated from the path.

The controller finds the real feed timing when each of the sensors senses the specified point on the sheet nipped by at least the associated roller pair. When each of the sensors senses the specified point on the sheet nipped by at least the associated roller pair, the controller finds the time difference between the associated reference feed timing and the associated real feed timing and controls, according to the found time difference, the feed speed at which the feed roller pair or pairs nipping the sheet feed it.
