Abstract:
A combination tool for installing and crimping a cleat for fastening sections of ductwork, and for adjusting the threaded on support rods of strut channel for leveling the ductwork. The tool has an installing plate for holding a cleat and a removable handle that threads to the back of the installing plate. The handle has a hollow tubular body with a nut driver formed in the other end, for engaging and driving a threaded nut. The nut driver end is made by milling a rectangular slot transverse the axis of the hollow tubular body to form a pair of nut-engaging. A shank can be provided for attachment to the chuck of a power drill for rapid driving of the nuts. The tool also has a hinged crimping plate with threaded set screws for crimping the cleat securely to the flanges of the ductwork.

A security sensor system comprises one or more laser detection and ranging (LADAR) sensors configured for accumulation of three-dimensional image data. In one embodiment, the one or more LADAR sensors each comprise a LADAR device, such as a MEMS device, configured to transmit a plurality of laser pulses, and a microprocessor operatively coupled to the LADAR device. One or more data storage devices is operatively coupled to the microprocessor and configured to store the three-dimensional image data, as well as predetermined protected area boundary and fixed object definitions. A GPS receiver can be operatively coupled to the microprocessor and a GPS antenna. The microprocessor is configured to perform a LADAR image analysis that compares the three-dimensional image data with the protected area boundary and fixed object definitions to identify one or more potential intruders.

In preferred embodiments, the present invention provides methods of treatment and pharmaceutical compositions for the suppression, alleviation and prevention of the often chronic, severe and debilitating pain that can accompany inflammatory diseases and neuropathic insults, pain that is often unresponsive to conventional analgesic treatment. The preferred embodiments of the present invention further relate to methods of treatment and pharmaceutical compositions using benzodiazepine derivatives that provide suppression, alleviation and prevention of neuropathic pain, migraine-related pain and inflammatory pain with reduced sedative and ataxic side effects.

A financial institution can provide financial services to a plurality of remote devices, such as personal computers, personal data assistants, screen phones, automatic teller machines, external service providers, and internally to staff terminals and individual branches. By separating the components of the system into independent components, the system and method can be developed and tested on a component level rather than the entire system level, thereby reducing the development and maintenance cycle time. The system and method operate in sessions and can employ a dialog component for gathering information from a customer, a rule broker component for providing answers to the various legal and regulatory rules in a particular country, a language man component for selecting appropriate language, a transaction executor component for performing transactions, and a presentation manager component for formatting outputs to the customer.

Improved SAW pressure sensors and manufacturing methods thereof. A SAW wafer including a number of SAW transducers disposed thereon may be provided. A cover wafer may also be provided, with a glass wall situated between the cover wafer and the SAW wafer. The cover wafer may be secured to the SAW wafer such that the glass wall surrounds the SAW transducers. In some instances, the glass wall may define, at least in part, a separation between the cover wafer and the SAW wafer. One or more contours may also be provided between the cover wafer and the SAW wafer such that at least one of the contours surrounds at least one of the SAW transducers when the cover wafer is disposed over and secured relative to the SAW wafer.

The present invention a method and apparatus for measuring the compression of a stator core 10 that comprises attaching a measuring device 22 to a tensioner 20, placing the tensioner on an end of a through-bolt 12 of the stator core, and performing at least one act of tensioning the stator core 10 with the tensioner. Then measuring a compression state of the stator core by the measuring device registers determining the amount of relative compression achieved by the act of tensioning, the relative compression is the amount of actual compression of the core and the amount of stretch of the through-bolt. Finally determining an actual compression state of the stator core based on the measuring.

A fluid pumping system that includes a motor and a pump, wherein an output shaft of the motor is directly coupled to an input shaft of the pump. This coupling between the output shaft of the motor and the input shaft of the pump may be the primary mechanism for coupling the motor to the pump. Such a configuration may be called a “floating pump mount”, because the pump is primarily coupled to the motor via the shaft connection. As a result of this connection, the output shaft of the motor may be naturally “aligned” with the input shaft of the pump. To help prevent the pump from freely rotating with the output shaft of the motor during operation, a rotational stop mechanism may be provided. The rotational stop mechanism may include at least one resilient member for absorbing or substantially absorbing at least some of any relative movement between the pump and the motor.

Devices and methods for acoustically measuring temperature and pressure are disclosed. A SAW sensor in accordance with an illustrative embodiment can include an electrode structure adapted to transmit and receive surface acoustic waves along a SAW delay line, temperature sensing means for measuring temperature along a first direction of the SAW delay line, and pressure sensing means for measuring pressure along a second direction of the SAW delay line. The SAW sensor can include an antenna adapted to wirelessly transmit and receive RF signals to and from an electrical interrogator unit that can be used to power the SAW sensor.

An interface device for interfacing automatic test equipment (ATE) with a unit under test (UUT) comprises at least one general purpose interface (GPI) connector body carrying at least one floating GPI contact, at least one twin access contact (TAC) connector body carrying at least one floating TAC contact, and a printed wiring board (PWB). The GPI contact has a first end and a second end. The first end of the GPI contact is adapted for engagement with a corresponding floating contact of the ATE in a manner to permit electrical communication between the GPI contact and its corresponding ATE contact. The TAC contact has a first end and a second end. The TAC connector body is positioned adjacent to the GPI connector body so that the second end of the GPI contact engages the first end of the TAC contact in a manner to permit electrical communication between the GPI contact and the TAC contact. The PWB has at least one contact pad and at least one surface mount connector for mating with a UUT. The contact pad and the surface mount connector are electrically connected via circuitry carried by the PWB. The contact pad of the PWB is adapted for engagement with the second end of the TAC contact in a manner to permit electrical communication between the contact pad and the TAC contact.
