    摘要: A liquid crystal display includes a pair of support substrates, a liquid crystal layer held between the substrates, and pixel circuits that are arrayed in a matrix on one of the substrates and control the alignment state of liquid crystal molecules. Each pixel circuit includes first and second power terminals, first and second pixel electrodes that apply a liquid crystal drive voltage to the liquid crystal layer to create a substantially lateral electric field, and first and second drive transistors that have gate electrodes for receiving a video signal, that are connected between the first power terminal and the first pixel electrode and between the second power terminal and the second pixel electrode, respectively, and that cause the liquid crystal drive voltage determined by conductances that vary in accordance with the video signal, to be retained in a liquid crystal capacitance between the first and second pixel electrodes.

    摘要: An organic EL light emitting display device is provided which includes a matrix array having a plurality of pixel circuits, each including an organic light emitting element. A scan driving circuit and a current supply circuit are coupled to the pixel circuits. In addition, a plurality of pads are provided which are adapted to connect the scan driving circuit and the current supply circuit to external circuits. In accordance with one embodiment, the pads are located to be closer to the current supply circuit than to the scan driving circuit.

    摘要: To prevent an n-channel thin-film transistor from being deteriorated by hot holes generated in a gate-negative pulse mode. A thin polysilicon film 10 is provided with a p-type semiconductor region 13 in contact with a channel region 14. The p-type semiconductor region 13 is electrically connected to nowhere except the channel region 14. Holes induced on the surface due to a gate-negative pulse are further supplied from the p-type semiconductor region 13. An electric field established by the gate-negative pulse is relaxed by the holes, fewer hot holes are injected into the gate oxide film, and the TFT characteristics are less deteriorated.

    摘要: An active matrix type liquid crystal display system having a liquid crystal composition being interposed between a first and a second substrates, a plurality of pixel parts being constructed with a plurality of scanning electrodes and a plurality of signal electrodes arranged in a matrix, a switching element being provided in each of the pixel parts, wherein the switching element is connected to a pixel electrode, the pixel electrode and a common electrode being so constructed as operable in keeping the major axes of the liquid crystal molecules parallel to the surface of the substrate. In the pixel part, the signal electrode and the pixel electrode is formed and a shield electrode is formed between the signal electrode and the pixel electrode. The system requires no transparent electrode, being excellent in visual angle characteristic, being high in contrast, being small in cross-talk producing probability.
