摘要: In an optical disk recorder, an optimum threshold value (M′) of a front-end buffer is calculated from data size, signal transfer rate (Rt) and signal write rate (Rw). Writing the signal to the optical disk is performed multiple times each immediately after the storage amount reaches the optimum threshold value (M′), while continuing buffer storage to the front-end buffer. By performing the writing, time (T3) at which the signal transfer from a back-end buffer to the front-end buffer is ended can be made substantially simultaneous with time (T4) at which the signal writing by an optical pickup is ended, whereby time required for signal writing can be reduced.

At this time, when buffering is completed to the one preceding sector 50 of the overwrite inhibiting area, the buffering jumps the overwrite inhibiting area and is continued from the next sector 53 of the overwrite inhibiting area. Also, in decoding, when a special reproducing mode is directed, a decoding position (a position of a sector 54) at that point in time is stored as the present position and thereafter, the decoding of the overwrite inhibiting area is performed.

摘要: In an engine block structure in a multi-cylinder engine in which a piston is incorporated from the side of a crank chamber into each of a plurality of cylinders disposed in series in a cylinder block, cylinder axes of the two adjacent cylinders are disposed to extend in such directions that they are gradually spaced apart from each other as proceeding from the side of a valve operating chamber toward the crank chamber as viewed from a direction of arrangement of the cylinders. Thus, a sufficient crankshaft bearing area can be ensured without bringing an increase in number of parts and an increase in size of the engine block.
