Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of fabricating a dental splint for stabilizing mobile or unstable teeth or firmly rooted teeth to prevent orthodontic relapse. The fabricating of the dental splint includes the steps of: a patient's dental arch to determine if lingual reduction is required, creating a representative model of the patient's dental arch, manipulating the representative model to select a group of teeth to be included in the dental splint and to define the height and length of a one-piece extracoronal component customized to the dentition of a patient; fabricating the one-piece extracoronal component, dry fitting the fabricated one-piece extracoronal component to confirm proper fit, and adhering the fabricated one-piece extracoronal component to the mobile or unstable teeth, wherein the one-piece extracoronal component adheres to the lingual aspect of the teeth and appears substantially non-visible facially.
Abstract:
A rib bay platform for use in an aircraft rib bay, is adjustable in length (for example it comprises two telescopically mounted sections. The platform comprises a first end configured for mounting on a stringer of the rib bay (for example by an interference fit), and a second end configured for mounting on another stringer of the rib bay (for example on feet mounted on ball-and-socket joints). A method of operating in an aircraft rib bay comprises the steps of providing a rib bay platform of adjustable length; adjusting the length of the platform; mounting the platform between the two stringers; whereby a person may then operate inside the aircraft rib bay while being supported on the platform.
Abstract:
A dental splint, a method for fabricating and installing same is disclosed for stabilizing mobile or unstable teeth. The dental splint comprises a one-piece extracoronal component customized to the dentition of a patient, wherein the one-piece extracoronal component is adhered to the lingual aspect of the teeth and substantially non-visible facially. The fabricating of the dental splint for stabilizing mobile or unstable teeth or firmly rooted teeth to prevent orthodontic relapse comprising the steps of: examining patient's dental arch to determine if lingual reduction is required; creating a representative model of the patient's dental arch; manipulating said representative model to select a group of teeth to be included in the dental splint and to define the height and length of a one-piece extracoronal component customized to the dentition of a patient; fabricating said one-piece extracoronal component; dry fitting the fabricated one-piece extracoronal component to confirm proper fit; and adhering the fabricated one-piece extracoronal component to said mobile or unstable teeth, wherein said one-piece extracoronal component adheres to the lingual aspect of said teeth and appears substantially non-visible facially. In one embodiment, one-piece extracoronal component is bonded to a group of teeth which are all mobile or unstable. An alternative embodiment disclosed herein provides a one-piece extracoronal component bonded to a group of firmly rooted teeth to prevent orthodontic relapse.
Abstract:
A circuit is disclosed for disconnecting a power source upon the detection of a leakage. The circuit comprises a disconnect switch for disconnecting the power source. A primary circuit controls the disconnect switch. A secondary circuit senses a leakage current. An optical switch interconnects the primary circuit and the secondary circuit for opening the disconnect switch upon the secondary circuit sensing a leakage current. The circuit is suitable for use as a leakage current detection and interruption circuit for completely electrically disconnecting and isolating the power source and the primary circuit from the secondary circuit.
Abstract:
A polishing apparatus comprising a base for affixing structures thereto, a drive wheel, a polishing wheel assembly, a polishing belt, and at least one routing wheel engaged with the polishing belt. The polishing wheel assembly includes an elongated arm including a distal end, and a rotatable polishing wheel supported at the distal end of the elongated arm. The polishing belt is made with an abrasive outer surface to perform the polishing, and an inner surface for engagement with the perimeters of the drive wheel and the polishing wheel. The routing wheel is engaged with the outer surface of the polishing belt, such that the contact arc of the polishing belt with the polishing wheel differs from an arc of the polishing wheel perimeter extending from a first tangent line between the drive wheel and the polishing wheel to a second tangent line between the drive wheel and the polishing wheel.
Abstract:
A method of creating a temporary tattoo is described. The method includes creating a template for the temporary tattoo, which may be formed of vinyl. The template is applied to the skin of a person. Skin safe adhesive is applied to the skin within the template, and metal leaf is applied to the adhesive layer on the skin within the template. The template is removed to reveal a metal leaf tattoo on the skin. The metal leaf may be platinum, gold, silver, copper, aluminum or colored metal leaf.
Abstract:
A bridge and adapter system for a bag-in-box packaging filler is shown to include an adapter providing a quick connection between the supply line and the dispensing member of the bag-in-box packaging. A bridge is adapted to sit longitudinally across the box of the bag-in-box packaging and is adapted to engage with both the adapter and the dispensing member of the bag-in-box packaging in order to provide support of the adapter and dispensing member, therein. The adapter includes air vents which facilitate the escape of air in the bag-in-box while it is being displaced with other contents from the supply line. The upper end portion of the adapter includes a cam lock connector for connecting the supply line.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of promoting growth comprising the step of administering an effective amount of a compound of formula I: in which X and Y are either the same or different and selected from a heteroatom; is a double or single bond depending on the heteroatoms X and Y; R1 to R5 are either the same or different and selected from hydrogen or a non-deleterious substituent; and R6 and R7 are either the same or different and selected from hydrogen and a non-deleterious substituent or one of R6 and R7 are absent when there is a double bond present, pharmaceutically or veterinarily acceptable salts or derivatives, pro-drugs, tautomers and/or isomers thereof to a subject in need thereof.

Abstract:
Dielectric compositions comprising a first component and a second component present at about 5 parts to about 60 parts filler per 100 parts of the first component are disclosed. In certain examples, the first component includes a polyphenylene ether, a polyepoxide, and optionally a compatibilizing agent and a catalyst. Certain examples of the dielectric compositions disclosed herein have low coefficients of thermal expansion. Prepregs, laminates, molded articles and printed circuit boards using the dielectric compositions are also disclosed.
