Abstract:
A device may detect a change in a connection being used for network access. The device may send a message, including a domain name, based on detecting the change in the connection. The device may receive a response from either a first device or a second device based on sending the message. The first device and the second device may be associated with the domain name and may have different network addresses. The device may selectively enable or disable a toll-free data service based on the response.
Abstract:
A system may be configured to allow for the translation of content, obtained and/or presented by a media cast device, to different languages. The translation may be performed based on translating the text of closed captioning information provided with the content, and generating audio based on the text. The translation may be performed independent of music or sound effects, such that only speech is replaced, without affecting other portions of the audio.
Abstract:
A method includes receiving, by a client device associated with a particular user, product details for video content including a purchase option identifier (ID) for the video content from a video service provider. The method includes requesting, by the client device based on a single sign on (SSO) protected call, a playback uniform resource locator (URL) for the video content from an orchestration layer associated with the video service provider. The method also includes receiving the playback URL, an entitlement ID associated with the particular user for the video content, and the encrypted content. The method includes obtaining a digital rights management (DRM) license for the encrypted content based on the entitlement ID, and decrypting and playing the video content based on DRM rules associated with the video content.
Abstract:
A mobile device analyzes data associated with media handled by a cast device connected to a display device. The mobile device causes control signals to be sent, via the one or more communication interfaces, to one of multiple different devices in a room to change an operational parameter associated with the one of the multiple different devices.
Abstract:
A system may receive tag information, associated with media content, that includes a tag and a tag time. The system may generate, based on the tag information, clip information that includes a start time and an end time for a media content clip associated with the media content. The system may determine, based on the tag information, advertisement information that identifies an advertisement to be displayed with the media content clip, and indicates how the advertisement is to be displayed. The system may provide the tag information for display via a social media application, and may receive, via the social media application, an indication that the media content clip is to be provided for display to a user. The system may provide the advertisement information and the clip information such that the advertisement and the media content clip are provided for display to the user based on the advertisement information.
Abstract:
A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium provide an extended content delivery network service in which user devices are configured as extended content delivery network devices that download and/or stream programs to other users of the extended content delivery network service. Additionally, a method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium provide an in-home media server device that stores programs in a same format as a format of the programs stored in a content delivery network, and provide an error correction service in which a portion of a program including an error, initially received via a multicast or broadcast transmission, is replaced with a corrected portion of the program via a unicast transmission. Still further, a method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium provide a mobile extended content delivery network device that downloads or streams programs to other users of the extended content delivery network service.
Abstract:
A device may receive hash values generated based on resource identifiers. The resource identifiers may be associated with a toll free data service and may be associated with a file size threshold for accessing the toll-free data service. The device may identify a request to access content using a resource identifier and may generate a hash value based on the resource identifier. The device may compare the generated hash value and the received hash values. The device may request the content selectively using a toll-free resource identifier or a non-toll-free resource identifier based on comparing the generated hash value and the received hash values.
Abstract:
A first device may receive an error log relating to an error associated with accessing content that is associated with a toll-free data campaign. The error log may include information identifying the error. The first device may determine a cause of the error based on the error log. The first device may determine an updated status of the content or the toll-free data campaign. The first device may generate an error explanation based on the cause of the error and the updated status. The error explanation may identify the cause of the error or the updated status. The first device may cause the error explanation to be provided to a second device that is associated with the error log.

Abstract:
A device may receive preferences related to performing cellular data testing in a cellular network. The preferences may identify one or more target network addresses. The device may receive location information identifying a testing location. The device may configure a component of the device to set a location of the device based on the location information. The device may perform a cellular data test by transmitting network traffic to the one or more target network addresses via a gateway associated with the testing location. The device may determine a result of the cellular data testing based on transmitting the network traffic. The device may selectively provide a notification based on the result.
