    摘要: An apparatus generates an image signal in which pixels are encoded in N-bit words which encode at least a luma per pixel. A receiver (201) obtains high dynamic range pixel values in accordance with a first color representation in M-bitwords. A first generator (203) includes the high dynamic range pixel values in the image signal in the N-bit words according to a second color representation. A second generator (205) includes in the image signal an indicator that high dynamic range pixel values are encoded. In some examples, the high dynamic range pixel values may be provided in a segment that can alternatively contain high or low dynamic range pixel values, and the indicator may indicate which type of data is included. The approach may e.g. facilitate introduction of high dynamic range capability into e.g. HDMI systems.

The basic information includes video content that is adapted to be displayed on a display device. The overlay information includes overlay content and time information. The overlay content is adapted to be overlayed on a portion of the displayed video content for a period of time during the displaying of the video content. The overlay content, and not the portion of the displayed video content, appears visible during the period of time. The time information is indicative of the period of time.

    摘要: Video information intended to be reproduced on a television screen (1) often includes additional information such as graphics information (3) or subtitles (4) in addition to the main information such as film images (2). This additional information is transmitted separately, so that the user may choose whether the additional information is to be displayed or not. In the disclosed method the transmitted video signal comprises information relating to the duration (25) for which the additional information is to remain on the display. With this method the additional information can be displayed exactly for the duration of the desired time. When a video disc or tape is used for transferring video information, this is advantageous in trick modes, such as Fast Forward.

The method comprises recording video objects comprising a sequence of contiguously recorded cells, each cell comprising a unique cell identification number within a video object, recording of a playback sequence of cells that defines a playable program chain of cells, wherein said sequence comprises references to the cell identification numbers and recording navigation data within said cells comprising said cell identification numbers.The method further comprises dividing at least one previously recorded cell into new cells and/or overwriting at least one previously recorded cell at least partly with a new cell, assigning the at least one new cell with a cell identification number and recording a new playback sequence of cells employing the at least one new cell, the new playback sequence not necessarily employing an incremental numbering of cell identification numbers.Hereby a time consuming renumbering of all cells is being avoided.

When finalizing the disc, the recorded management information signals is copied to the reserved area in correspondence to the latest mapping table information and the remaining unrecorded sections of the reserved area is recorded with arbitrary data signals.
