摘要: A faucet mountable water conditioning devices include a relatively simple configuration that allows for reduced cost, easy installation, and a pleasing aesthetic. In one or more implementations, a faucet mountable water conditioning device includes a universal faucet mounting mechanism. The universal faucet mounting mechanism allows the faucet mountable water conditioning device to connect and seal to a wide variety of faucet designs and sizes simply by pressing the mounting mechanism over the faucet. The faucet mountable water conditioning device can also include a base configured to hold a water conditioning source. In one or more implementations a connector can couple the base to the mounting mechanism; thereby, allowing the base to move between active and inactive positions.

摘要: A solid composition including calcium and/or magnesium hypochlorite, a builder (e.g., one or more of carbonate, bicarbonate, sesquicarbonate), an acid, a water-soluble polymer, at least one anionic surfactant, and optionally, a hydrotrope. The composition does not include any potassium hypochlorite, sodium hypochlorite, lithium hypochlorite, N-halogenated compounds, peroxides, persulfates, hydantoins, isocyanurates, or carboxylic acids that also have hydroxyl, amino, amido, imino, or imido groups. Upon dissolution of the composition in water, the calcium and/or magnesium hypochlorite and acid react to form hypochlorous acid. The use of hypochlorous acid, rather than direct use of an alkaline or alkaline earth hypochlorite results in a composition that is typically acidic rather than basic, and that results in improved cleaning. The composition is particularly suited for cleaning and disinfecting dentures.

摘要: Shaped compositions are provided for use in delivering a substantially uniform concentration of a functional agent (e.g., an antimicrobial sanitizing agent) to a flowing stream of water. The composition may be shaped and sized to be inserted into a device configured to be attached over the end of a faucet. The shaped composition may include at least two different regions (e.g., layers). A dissolvable region includes a functional agent (e.g., an anti-microbial sanitizing agent). A substantially non-dissolvable region is disposed adjacent to the dissolvable region (e.g., adjacent the bottom surface) so as to cover a bottom surface of the dissolvable region. The geometry of the shaped composition, as well as the presence of the substantially non-dissolvable region aids in providing a substantially uniform concentration of functional agent throughout the life of the dissolvable region.

摘要: The invention relates to a treatment article and a method for treating a fabric by delivering one or more powdered benefit agents to a fabric in a tumble dryer and thus providing at least one fabric benefit such as sanitization and/or disinfection, whitening and/or stain removal to the fabric during the tumble drying process. The treatment article functions to dispense at least one powdered benefit agent to the fabric by means of a diffusing membrane having an average pore diameter such that the tumbling and/or heating action provided during the tumble drying process results in the delivery of an oxidant material in the form of a powdered benefit agent to the initially damp or wet fabric to provide at least one primary fabric benefit to the treated fabric. Optionally, a second and/or third benefit agent may additionally be included in the treatment article for simultaneous delivery of one or more additional fabric benefits. The invention also relates to a treatment kit employing a treatment article with instructions for the effective delivery of one or more fabric benefits to a fabric during a tumble drying process.

摘要: The invention provides an aqueous bleaching solution for substrate treatment comprising a source of oxidant and a suspended polymer matrix having a plurality of optically functional particles associated with one or more copolymers present in the polymer matrix. The plurality of optically functional particles are associated with the copolymer during polymerization of at least one hydrophobic and at least one hydrophilic monomer so as to form a polymer matrix useful to impart an aqueous bleaching solution with optically functional properties providing a benefit to the solutions during storage, use and application to substrates for treatment. In accordance with various embodiments of the invention, the suspended polymer matrix forms a substantially stable dispersion of the optically functional particles in the aqueous bleaching solution, and provides compositions, methods and kits for employing aqueous bleaching solutions having optically functional properties that are maintained over substantially long storage times.

摘要: The present invention relates to aqueous compositions of associative polyelectrolyte complexes (PECs), optionally containing surfactants, biocidal agents and/or oxidants, which can provide surface protection to treated articles including reduced soiling tendency, reduced cleaning effort and improved soil repellancy, as well as providing bacteriostatic properties to treated surfaces that thereby gain resistance to water, environmental exposure and microbial challenge. Treatment means and compositions are provided that employ associative polyelectrolyte complexes formed by combining a water soluble cationic first polyelectrolyte with a water soluble second polyelectrolyte bearing groups of opposite charge to the first polyelectrolyte under suitable mixing conditions where the one polyelectrolyte present in molar excess is added in the form of a first aqueous solution during a mixing step to a second aqueous solution comprising the oppositely charged polyelectrolyte present in molar deficiency. Also provided are means to form stable associative polyelectrolyte complexes in aqueous solutions having R values from about 0.10 to 20, including near stoichiometric R values approaching 1, being the ratio of charged groups present on the component polyelectrolytes employed.
