Abstract:
An egg dryer incorporating a rotating spool bar conveyor extending between an inlet end and an outlet end and upon which are supported a plurality of eggs conveyed through the body. An airflow exhibiting a humidity less than that associated with an environment outside the body is directed from the outlet end in a normal and opposing flowing direction relative to a direction of travel of the eggs. Subset flows of heated/desiccated air are also redirected to one or more intermediate header tubes arranged at internal locations of the body in communication with the conveyor and, in combination with impinging baffle plates mounted in proximity to the header tubes, provide additional and targeting drying of such as the ends of the eggs in combination with the overall heated/desiccated airflow.
Abstract:
An apparatus for transferring products such as eggs from a first conveyor to a second conveyor. During transfer products with certain properties which have been previously detected are allowed to fall into a gap between the conveyors. The transfer uses a rotatable cylinder with radially extending grippers having an open position and a closed position. When a gripper does not grip a product it falls into a gap between the conveyors. Other products are gripped and transferred to the second conveyor. A method for transferring products from a first conveyor to a second conveyor wherein products having certain properties are removed and caused to fall down into a gap between the first and second conveyors. A detected signal upstream from the gap to control positioning of grippers to either transfer products to the second conveyor or allow them to fall into a gap between the two conveyors.
Abstract:
A gripper device for displacing at least one single unit of consumer packages comprising gripper blades movable in rotating and translating manner with control members accommodated in housing, gripper members engage units on two opposite longitudinal sides after closure for picking up, transfer and placement in outer packages. Clamping members for keeping the cover closed during pickup, transfer and discharge of closed units are placed between units to keep units in relative positions during pickup, transfer and placement, cooperating with gripper and clamping members. Holder members comprise intermediate plates suspended vertically through slots in housing bottom plate and are clamped between the units. Intermediate plates are pressed vertically by a spring member, wherein a suspended main portion and the intermediate plates merge into an engaging edge having an angle under 40.degrees between main portion and engaging edge, the engaging edge, ends at the bottom portion of such a unit.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an apparatus for removing undesirable products, for instance eggs or fruits, from a stream of products which are fed in at least one single row on well-defined positions of an endless feed conveyor, for instance lying on rollers of a roller conveyor, and which are transferred in conveying direction to and onto at least one single row of an endless follow-on conveyor which is placed at virtually the same height in alignment with said feed conveyor, wherein the transfer of each product is carried out by a product transfer element which, upon transfer, takes up a transfer position between and in alignment with the two said rows, wherein the said undesirable products are removed from the stream of products at the end of said feed conveyor, wherein the product transfer element is energized and is removed from the transfer position, wherein the product transfer element takes up the transfer position only during transfer of the products from the feed conveyor to and onto the follow-on conveyor, while in the stream of products after the feed conveyor and prior to the follow-on conveyor the desired products only come into contact with said product transfer elements. Preferably, the product transfer elements are provided on a cylinder drum between said feed conveyor and said follow-on conveyor.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided for transferring products, in particular eggs, comprising at least one height, at least one row of conveying units positioned under an endless sorting conveyor, wherein the products are discharged in a well-defined manner from the sorting conveyor into the conveying units, are received by the conveying units, and are subsequently delivered to a packaging device thereunder. Each conveying unit consists of at least two parts which can move relative to each other, in particular away from each other and back again, from a receiving position for taking up such a product to a discharge position for delivering the product downwardly therefrom. The at least one row is included in a frame and is arranged on one carrier, while the carrier with the row is exchangeable and interlockable, and the carrier is provided with an interlock at the ends of the row. The interlock consists of two fitting connection halves, of which one on the carrier and the other on the frame, and a fit retainer.Advantageously, this arrangement enables quick and reliable exchange and replacement of such units in large sorting machines.
Abstract:
An apparatus for transferring substantially round, fragile articles, such as for instance eggs, from a first conveyor to a second conveyor or vice versa, characterized in that the transfer takes place by means of a swivel lever according to a flowing path of movement, wherein in the starting point or end point respectively of the path of movement, the velocity and direction of movement of the article to be transferred correspond to the velocity and direction of movement of the first conveyor and wherein the velocity and direction of movement of the article in a transfer track correspond to those of the second conveyor.
Abstract:
Apparatus for loading and/or unloading a container with stacks of packages, such as for instance egg boxes or egg trays, which container comprises a number of shelves which are arranged one above the other. The apparatus includes a collecting table, a sliding device for sliding the stacks of packages on the container shelf, and a transfer device for the transfer of the stacks of packages between the collecting table and one end of a further conveyor. The collecting table includes an endless collecting table conveyor and the transfer device includes an endless conveyor assembly.
Abstract:
A support mechanism for preventing outward deflection of a cracker shaft in an egg breaker assembly, about which are supported in orbiting fashion a plurality of circumferentially spaced rows of egg breakers. A disk shaped portion is mounted in slaved rotatable fashion about an intermediate location of the cracker shaft and exhibits a plurality of exteriorly facing and circumferentially offset inwardly recessed scalloped surfaces. An outer fixed and guiding cam is secured to an aligning intermediate location of the breaker and exhibits an inner arcuate extending and guiding/support surface in outwardly spaced and aligning fashion relative to the scalloped locations of the rotating disk. A perimeter support is disposed upon an aligning location of each cracker shaft and which is captured between selected scalloped locations and the inner guide supporting surface corresponding to at least one of egg receipt, breaking and depositing of yolk and albumen contents to synchronized delivery cups and albumen trays associated with the breakers.
Abstract:
An apparatus for picking up products or groups of products, including a gripper having a frame, two holders that are movably connected on two opposite sides of the frame, and two gripper blades that are each movably connected with an associated one of the holders. Each gripper blade has the shape of an arc with an associated axis, the two axes of the two gripper blades are situated between the two gripper blades. Guide wheels, in the form of a pinion with teeth, engage with at least one row of holes arranged on the arc of the gripper blade to thereby guide the associated blade during rotation about its axis. A first drive is provided for moving each of the holders away from and towards each other. Two second drives are connected with a respective one of the two gripper blades to rotatingly turn outwards or draw inwards the associated arcuate gripper blade. A third drive is provided for displacing the gripper frame.
Abstract:
An apparatus comprising a gripper frame, connected with an arm or beam for displacing the gripper frame, two gripper blades which are rotatably connected with the gripper frame, two supporting strips each connected along hinges extending substantially in horizontal direction with each respective one of the two supporting strips, a driver which performs a vertical movement for engaging such packaging units in an engagement position and releasing such packaging units in a release position, and a controller connected with the gripper frame, the supporting strips, and the driver. The controller comprise a single lift plate arranged under the gripper frame and between the gripper blades. A vertical upward movement of the lift plate moves the supporting strips to an engagement position to clamp the packaging units between the gripper blades and downward movement of the lift plate moves the supporting strips to a release position.
