    摘要: A blade member for cutting-tools includes a cermet substrate which contains, apart from unavoidable impurities, a binder phase and a hard dispersed phase. The binder phase contains 5% to 30% by weight of cobalt and/or nickel. The hard dispersed phase contains a balance composite carbonitride of titanium and one or more of the elements tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, niobium, hafnium and zirconium. The composite carbo-nitride satisfies the relationship 0.2.ltoreq.b/(a+b).ltoreq.0.7, where a and b denote atomic ratios of carbon and nitrogen, respectively. The substrate includes a hard surface layer in which the maximum hardness is present at a depth between 5 .mu.m and 50 .mu.m from a substrate surface thereof. The substrate surface has a hardness of 20% to 90% of the maximum hardness.

The resilient member is mounted on the flange for urging the rotary knife toward the flange portion. There is also provided a shifting mechanism mounted on the flange for shifting the rotary knife in a direction away from the flange portion against the urging force of the resilient member.

    摘要: There is disclosed an insert clamped tool which has a tool holder including a recess formed at a forward end thereof and defining an insert-receiving seat. The tool holder has a pin-receiving hole formed therein so as to open to the insert-receiving seat and having a tapered portion. A positioning pin is releasably received in the hole of the tool holder. The positioning pin has an engaging portion formed at one end thereof and a tapered portion fitted in the tapered portion of the hole. A cutting insert having a mounting bore formed therethrough is received on the insert-receiving seat in such a manner that the engaging portion of the positioning pin is held in abutting engagement with the mounting bore of the insert. A clamp mechanism is arranged on the tool holder for pressing the insert against the insert-receiving seat and the engaging portion of the positioning pin.

    摘要: In a rotary cutting tool for use with at least one cutting tip, a cutter body has its forward end whose outer periphery has mounted thereto the cutting tip. A chip suction device is arranged outwardly of an outer peripheral surface of the cutter body for drawing chips generated by the cutting tip. The chip suction device includes a generally cylindrical cover unit having a wall for covering the cutter body. The cover unit is supported by the cutter body for rotation relative thereto. A chip accommodating chamber is defined between an inner peripheral surface of the cover unit and the outer peripheral surface of the cutter body. A suction port unit is provided in the wall of the cover unit and communicates with the chip accommodating chamber. A chip guide unit is arranged at the forward end of the cutter body in facing relation to the face of the cutting tip for guiding the chips generated by the cutting tip to the chip accommodating chamber.

    摘要: A novel synchronizer ring for use in a speed variator that is made of a Cu base alloy and which exhibits good initial accommodation by mating surfaces while ensuring high wear resistance is disclosed. The ring also has either an oxide film layer of aluminum oxide base with an average thickness of 0.1-10 .mu.m or a work-hardened layer with an average thickness of 5-300 .mu.m formed on the surface of the ring where it is to contact a mating member.

    摘要: There is disclosed a process for fabricating UO.sub.2 pellets from highly active uranium dioxide powders, comprising the steps of (1) uniformly adding at least one pore-former agent in the range of 0.3 to 1.4% by weight to uranium dioxide powders as a starting material, the pore-former agent decomposing and sublimating below 600.degree. C. and having an average particle size in the range of 5 to 500 .mu.m, (2) compacting the uranium dioxide powders including the pore-former agent to form green pellets, and (3) sintering the green pellets to form sintered UO.sub.2 pellets having large grain size crystals. According to the present invention, UO.sub.2 pellets having the sintered density in the range of 94 to 97% TD are fabricated from highly active UO.sub.2 powder when the pellets have large crystalline grain sizes exceeding 20 .mu.m. Accordingly, the fission gasses generated during irradiation is restrained to the inside pellet thereof to enhance the safety of the irradiation.
