Abstract:
A liquid crystal display device includes a hologram layer having predetermined patterns corresponding to patterns of a color filter. Light inputted to the LCD device is transmitted through the hologram layer when reflected by a reflection layer out of the LCD device. Efficiency of use of the light reflected from the hologram layer is maximized so that quality of an image is improved.
Abstract:
A method for driving a plasma display having a plurality of cathodes and anodes arranged in a matrix structure and a plurality of discharge cells formed at intersecting portions of the cathodes and anodes. Each cathode is addressed and subsequently a sustaining pulse for a predetermined time during a sustaining period is applied to each cathode so that the sustaining period is increased. The method maintains a discharge-sustaining time by adding a predetermined sustaining pulse during a writing phase after addressing all cathodes, thereby enhancing the brightness of the discharge cell.

Abstract:
A process for preparing a LiCoO.sub.2 or LiNiO.sub.2 powder comprising the steps of dissolving lithium nitrate, lithium acetate or lithium hydroxide and cobalt nitrate, cobalt acetate, cobalt oxide or cobalt hydroxide; or dissolving lithium nitrate, lithium acetate or lithium hydroxide, and nickel nitrate, nickel acetate, nickel oxide or nickel hydroxide to produce a mixed solution, sufficiently mixing the mixed solution with a chelating agent, polyacrylic acid, malic acid or polyvinyl butyral, slowly heating the above to produce a sol, continuously and slowly heating the sol to produce a gel precursor, heating the gel precursor to produce a precursor powder, and calcining the precursor powder to produce a LiCoO.sub.2 or LiNiO.sub.2 powder is simple and economic. The particles of the powder produced by the process are so microscopic and have a high specific surface area that cathode material of a lithium based secondary cell using the powder shows preferable properties.
Abstract:
A multiple charged developing gun provides a multiple charged electrode portion comprising a body and a flow path that is formed in an inner portion of the body and through which powder flows; an entrance, which is formed on one side of the body, connected to the flow path, and in which the powder flows through a powder supply line by being connected to a powder supply apparatus; an exit that is formed on the other side of the body, which is connected to the flow path that becomes gradually narrow; a multiple charged electrode portion that is disposed in an inner portion the body, which is near to the exit; and a cable, which connects the multiple charged electrode portion to a power supply apparatus. The multiple charged electrode portion comprises an electrode supply assembly, which is disposed in an inner portion of the body; a multiple electrode on which plural strip type electrodes is arranged at the electrode support assembly in forming a line toward the longitudinal direction of the body and the multiple electrode is connected to a power supply apparatus through the cable.
Abstract:
A method for preventing direct current shock to a liquid crystal display module. In the method, a driving signal of a liquid crystal display, generated by processing signals input from a host via an interface, is enabled only after the lapse of a time period beginning when a voltage is first supplied to the liquid crystal display module from a power source. Accordingly, DC shock to the LCD module is precisely prevented.
Abstract:
A method for heating an implosion-proof band in a process of banding a cathode ray tube (CRT) and an apparatus for heating the band. The band is thermally expanded before it is attached to the outer surface of a CRT. The method includes generating a first high frequency pulse, generating a second high frequency pulse in response to the first pulse, regulating the level of the second pulse, generating a magnetic field in response to the second pulse, and heating the implosion-proof band by locating the band within the magnetic field. The band is uniformly and completely expanded for easy installation while avoiding deterioration of the surface of the band.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a compact fluorescent lamp which includes a number of glass tubes in which fluorescent material is applied on the inner surface, and in which mercury steam and noble gas is injected. Also, the glass tubes are connected so that they are communicable with each other, and electrodes are inserted and sealed in one side of the glass tubes. In the end portions of the glass tubes where electrodes are not inserted, sealing is accomplished through heat from burners.

A double layer phosphor screen comprising a panel having black matrix for a CRT and red, green and blue phosphors on the panel, wherein the phosphor is formed on which the black matrix is not formed and the blue phosphor is formed in double layers, and the CIE Y color coordinate of the blue phosphor for a first layer formed on the panel is 0.045 to 0.065, the CIE Y color coordinate of the blue phosphor for a second layer formed on the first layer is 0.075 to 0.095, improves brightness, color reproducing range and contrast.
Abstract:
A heat resistant polymer composition, an alignment layer formed using the same, and an LCD having the alignment layer are provided. The heat resistant polymer composition includes 10-25% by weight of a polyimide resin or polyamic acid, 0.1-1% by weight of an adhesive agent, and balance of a solvent. The adhesive agent improves thermal stability. Thus, the LCD having the alignment layer formed using the same can accomplish a desirable pre-tilt angle of liquid crystals and desirable alignment properties of liquid crystal molecules.
