Abstract:
A device for disentangling and spreading short steel fibers used for the reinforcement or crack prevention of concrete or mortar employed for civil engineering works, building constructions or the like. The device comprises a hopper for storing short steel fibers which has a bottom opening which is connected to a nozzle. A horizontal disc rotated by a motor is mounted at the intersection of the bottom of the hopper and the nozzle with the plane of the disc parallel with the general orientation of the nozzle, the disc being formed with a plurality of plate shaped members ranged radially on its upper surface forming an impeller. Projecting from the upper surface of the disc on the axis thereof is a central boss having a plurality of vanes radially mounted thereon in such a manner that they are alternately at different heights. The boss also has pendulum-like agitating arms pivotally mounted at the top thereof.
Abstract:
Flocking material is conveyed from a supply container to a portable electrostatic applicator through a flexible tube in which is reciprocated an elongated flexible impeller. The impeller includes a series of semispherical propelling elements mounted on a longitudinally extending flexible rod.
Abstract:
An anvil assembly for a fiber roving chopper comprises an annular roller and an annular anvil wheel. The annular roller comprises an inner diameter surface with a plurality of dovetails, and an outer diameter surface comprising a deformable material. The annular anvil wheel comprises an inner diameter surface forming a central bore for mounting the anvil assembly in the fiber roving chopper, and an outer diameter surface extending between a first end and a second end and having a plurality of dovetail slots that receive the plurality of dovetails.
Abstract:
In an apparatus including a shooting device, a planting device, a drive source for feeding pressurized air to the shooting device, a pile feeding container in communication with the shooting device, and a charge supply including positive and negative charge supply terminals, a method for three-dimensionally planting pile includes coating adhesive on one or more surfaces of a three-dimensional member; electrically connecting the positive charge supply terminal to the planting device for forming a positive electric field thereon; electrically connecting the negative charge supply terminal to the member to be planted for forming a negative electric field thereon with an electrostatic field from the planting device to the member being established; activating the shooting device to project pile through the planting device toward the one or more surfaces of the member as driven by the electrostatic field; and adhering the pile to the one or more surfaces of the member.
Abstract:
Nozzles for converting clumps and nodules of dry or substantially dry fibrous insulation to pils and for spraying on the so treated and accelerated air entrained insulation pieces to form thermal and acoustical insulation in building cavities. The nozzles comprise a shredder section for reducing the size of many of the pieces of insulation to pil size and an accelerator section for increasing the velocity of a stream of air suspended pils for improved just-installed insulation integrity or strength. The shredder and the accelerator can also be combined in a single unit.
Abstract:
In the broader aspects of the invention, there is provided a new and improved pneumatic conveying machine comprising a vertically sided hopper, and a material agitator/conditioner within the hopper. The hopper has a discharge opening at the bottom of the hopper. An air lock is positioned in the discharge opening through which shredded material is discharged into an air duct. The air blower is operatively connected to the air duct. The material can be reduced in density by the agitator/conditioner and transferred into the air stream by the air lock and conveyed continuously at a continuous rate of flow without plugging the air duct.
Abstract:
An insulation material spraying apparatus for using dry material and wet recycle material having, at least two hoppers for separately receiving the materials, at least one auger for receiving the materials for conveyance longitudinally of the auger, an accumulator chamber for receiving the materials and having at least one mixer rotatable about an axis for separately mixing and expanding the volume of the materials, a flow stabilizer to form a mixture of the wet and dry material and a pneumatic transport for receiving and dispensing the mixed insulation material. A process of spraying a mixture of dry material and wet recycle material from a single pneumatic transport using a dry material hopper and a wet recycle hopper, separately conveying the materials to an accumulator chamber, separately mixing and expanding the volume of the dry and wet recycle materials, mixing the dry material and the wet recycle material together, directing the mixture of the dry material and the wet recycle material into a pneumatic transport, and then dispensing and spraying the mixture.
Abstract:
A stream of molten slag is produced. A preferably hydraulic binder powder which is compatible with the molten slag is added to the stream in a predetermined proportion therewith. The molten slag is blasted together with the binder powder added thereto to form mineral wool fibers provided with the binder. The mineral wool fibers provided with the binder are combined in a web.
